Thor
I am just starting up an AD&D campaign and just wondering if I can mix and match. Are all the Reaper minis set to the same 25mm scale? Thx!
Hannibal_Legion
Some will mix better than others. Sometimes squeezing DHL figures the standard Warlord base size can be tricky. Scott
Thor
Hi Scott, Thanks for the quick reply! So Warlord are more 25mm scale and it sounds like DHL are a bit bigger (up to 28mm)? Thx!
Feanor
It varies some DHL are huge like Thor or Vidor the northman warrior while others like Goumons paladin initiate are very small, in fact most of Goumons sculpts are slight of build. GreyHorde
Thanks for the quick reply! So Warlord are more 25mm scale and it sounds like DHL are a bit bigger (up to 28mm)? Actually, it's the other way around -- Warlord are more like 30-32mm, and DHL closer to 28-30mm. Most Warlord figures, even when close in height to a DHL mini, are a bit thicker, heavier. In theory, they are all 28mm 'heroic' scale, but typically Warlord minis are more 'heroic', meaning a little taller (on average) and heavier. Still, don't worry too much about it. If you like the look of the minis, run with it. They are pretty close and look fine on the tabletop next to each other. Just watch for height differences due to the integrated bases on DHLs and tabbed/slotted bases on Warlord minis. Especially for RPGs -- have fun and go with what you like. Hannibal_Legion
My point was more that although Warlord figs may be larger-scaled 28mm, they are designed to fit on 25mm slotted bases. The DHL minis generally have more dramatic poses, wider stances, and large, molded bases that sometimes make them tricky to fit onto a Warlord base. It's nothing a jeweler's saw and a little elbow grease can't fix! or better yet, if you have access to a table grinder, just grind the thick, molded base down until it can be easily clipped away with nippy cutters. Hope this helps! Scott
