tanker22
Wow, thanks everyone! Didnt expect that I guess. I tend to get real nit pick with my stuff if it doesnt come out exactly as I envision it. Like I said, did these up before I saw the tutorial. Would still like to do some more following one of the tutorials better. Just did it in the base color, then layerd in some white to lighten up the lower reflection side. After that just acouple of glazes of the base color to get a blending on it. The white showed through making it look like a lighter and darker shade and color. Lastly just added that little white dot to the light entry point on the gem. Kind of one of those things that the more you mess with it you start to develope a feel for it I suppose. Thanks again for the feed back. Chris No problem John, I get a case of freddy fat fingers at times as well
Pyreos
Holy crap, those gems are FANTASTIC. Make sure someone doesn't mistake that neklace for real man, I almost did! Keep up the work, and keep demoralizing me, heh. Nice!
tanker22
Got some more work done her. Did a bit on the hair and her outfit. Its shiney because the oils are still wet. Will get back to it later and tweak it some more to touch up the highlights. Also put some future floor wax on the gems to see what theu would look like as the finished product, gives them quiet a bit more shine to them like an actual gem stone. Touched up on the eyes abit more as well as her lips. Also finally got my pin drill in so I can secure her to the base properly and the arms. First time using one came out pretty good, I was happy with it. Also got my green stuff in to fix her fingers so thanks for the suggestion on what to use Comment welcome and thanks for looking, chris

Enchantra
Whoa. Chris I just got a chance to look at this beautiful thing for the first time in weeks. Holy schnikes! The skin is gorgeous, the cloth is looking great and I love the hair. Any chance I could own this mini some day? Oh and I think we need to base this one together. The only thing is her lips just seem to orange to me. Maybe a hair more brown in the mixture or a little more red?
PurityThruFire
Smokin' Tanker. Best work to date.
tanker22
Thanks again everyone, Enchantra- Think what happened with her lips is I when back over the pink with a bit of red to darken them up in the lower areas. It does have kind of a wierd look to it now that you said something and I really started looking at it. As for the skin I havnt done anything with it yet, thats just he base coat, no oils yet but thanks anyways Think I can darken the hair a bit with a light brown wash as well, dont think it would hurt any VV- thanks dude, its just the sap green out of the georgian oils boxed set darkened with black and then white for the highlights. Used that dark thicket green as the acrylic base coat.
cutebutpsycho
okay, I'll admit I haven't read the posts, just looked at the pics, but it says you want comments. The only criticism I can come up with is the nostrils are a shade too dark. They really draw my eye. I'm being nitpicky, I know, I'm sorry, just trying to help. now I feel bad :(

Your right they are dark right now, plan on fixing them somewhere down the road. Thanks chris

Then again this monitor is old anyways. Right now her lips are to similar in color to her hair and it just really does look odd, The red hair is gorgeous and spot on, the lips definitely need some color. Even if they were a few shades darker than her skintone that would make them look more natural.
Mad Jack
It's lookin pretty <bleeping> slammin so far... A bit of advice when you greenstuff the fingers - Go slow, smooth often, and add just a tiny little bit at a time. Nothing's more frustrating than realizing you put too big a glob of green on your piece, and then trying to take a bit off without screwing up all the work it took to get it on there. Build the fingers up a joint at a time, and let them cure before ya start the next one - I find the easiest way to take off excess greenstuff while it's still soft is to work it toward the piece that's already cured so you've got something solid behind it and then carefully scrape it off. Having worked with green stuff for conversions, there is nothing more frustrating than getting a spot done, starting work on another spot and having that work ruin your previous work. I find this seems to go for a lot of two part modelling compounds, not just green stuff, but also for Aves Apoxie clay, brown stuff, grey stuff, blue stuff...Yeah you get the idea. tanker22
Got the fingers and the spear done for the most part, still might do a bit of smoothing on them though. For the first time working with green stuff I think they came out ok, not perfect but it works. Thanks for the tips on working with it Mad Jack and PTF, that would of been a real pain if I hadnt of known about keeping it wet. Just about ready to start the oils on her skin, will put her other arm on then as well, thats done as well. Should get to that in a few days. I try to get everything else done before I start on with the oils, then after they dry its just a matter of touch up work like on the base, ect. Thanks Chris
