Stubbdog
Just curious how long you leave your holiday decor up before packing it back up.
Helltown
My parents had a rule that the tree and lights had to come down when the last candy cane was swiped from the tree. So... Usually about two weeks after Christmas there'd be a brawl (between my brother and I) in front of the tree over the last candy cane and they'd know it was time to take down the decorations. SaintRigger
I like to take them down just after the new years, but Jennas family tradition is to leave them up until Epiphany, which I guess goes back to Colonial times. We also started a Twelfth Night feast last year with our supper club, and don't know if we'll continue i this year. It is a nice excuse to get everyone together. Aphrella
We also leave ours up 'til Epiphany.... kinda stretches the holiday a little so there's not an abrubt end to the festivities.
cutebutpsycho
We'd always set up fairly lateish so the tree didn't start losing its needles and turning brown too early. My mom's birthday is January 11th and we'd usually take down a day or two after that cause she wanted the tree up for her birthday.
Kheprera
Generally New Years is when everything comes down. This year it's up in the air. Whenever I damn well feel like it, I guess. I have been known to leave a tree up until April in the past, though. Working and going to school, both full time, will suck the time away. Warlady
Mine stays up through Twelfth Night, although occasionally later than that if I'm lazy. ;-)
CuCulain42
Holiday decorations are just extra cat-toys so I do not decorate, thus I do not have to take anything down.
Super Administrators kit Posted December 26, 2007 Super Administrators Share Posted December 26, 2007 We took our tree down several weeks ago. Well, the toddlers took it down. We left it down.
kristof65
CuCulain - you need older cats We take ours down as soon as my wife gets fed up with the tree. Last year that was the day after christmas. This year she wants to leave it up through New Years because her brother's family is visiting then. I expect she'll tear things down New Years Day. Krztoff
Usually at least a week or two after Christmas.

Go the 2-in-1 route like I did this year.. Decorate the tree with cat toys. 'Least then you'll know what they're getting at is kitty-safe. pferdundvogel
Hey, thats a GREAT idea! I forwent the whole tree thing and settled on a table top size one myself... (ornaments could not fit on this little thing) But, I started removing decorations last night. After the fifth/sixth night of the cats molesting my reindeers I decided it was enough.
