cutebutpsycho
If you pay the $40, it's probably gonna come with a T-shirt if we follow last year's model. And 2 hour classes where you focus heavily on one topic with an instructor and 3-4 other attendees is gonna run you about $20-again, if we follow last year's model. Keep in mind, they're flying these folks in, paying for their accomodations, and feeding them, so if prices are higher for that this year, prices for classes/con might be too. Rastl
We could suggest the 'adopt an instructor' idea where we get reduced class fees if we share our hotel rooms with them. Save on the money, keep those instructors in line. But wait. That means potentially have to share a room with an instructor. That might not be so good... Don't Anne and Zak have a garage or something?
Kahlus
So annoying living in the UK I'd love to go this year but its kinda hard with flights / accommodation's etc etc plus getting time off work (when your manager is the devil in human form). I'll save the cash for next year!!. On a side note, I understand the classes and socializing part of it, I'm merely curious as to the length of the classes i.e the amount of people allowed in to them and the time they take up, also on how long the and the con it self runs for? I'm a total newbie here and..... not been to a model con before So be really cool if someone can may be explain it all, so I can prepare for next year. cutebutpsycho
In the past classes have run $20 and have had 4-5 people in them. They run about 2 hours (of course, that includes set up/break down time). The con runs Friday/Saturday/Sunday at least, sometimes starts after noon on a Thursday for a meet and greet type of thing. Hours each day tend to run 9 or 10 am until 9 or 10 pm-then there's usually something going on at a hotel as far as an 'after con party' goes. Of course, things stop earlier on Sunday. haldir
one reason why I'm showing up Tues (instead of Weds as normal), mainly to get things in order & have a good start to the weekend. Anyone else showing up Tuesday? RM
Enchantra
one reason why I'm showing up Tues (instead of Weds as normal), mainly to get things in order & have a good start to the weekend. Anyone else showing up Tuesday? RM I'm coming in Wednesday Morning so I have time to bake cake and pie for the meet and greet, though something tells me my Boyfriend won't let me take the pie to the meet and greet and he might want to keep it all to himself. However I will be bringing one decadent chocolate fudge cake and one decadent vanilla caramel cake by popular request from the last time I made them. Helltown
Due to perpetual problems viewing my itinerary, I'm not really sure when I'll be arriving in Texas at the moment. I'm pretty sure that I'll be there on Wednesday, but I'm not 100% sure at this point. I hope to be able to attend the meet n' greet but... until I can view my travel plans, I'm not really sure. Heisler
I have never actually made it to the meet and greet but by Sunday, usually, everyone has figured out who I am.
cutebutpsycho
I can never remember which day of the week everything starts. By the time I get home, it's all a big, happy blur!
