Building my second Warlord Army

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My first Warlord army is done and the building was documented in the pages of Fictional Reality (www.fictionalreality.org). The painting of the first army will be documented in the upcoming March issue of FR. I've started on my second army, also Reven, but it's going to be themed and will not use any Reven models. If I use the Goblin Sublist is my understanding correct that for each regular troops that I take (like skeeters, warriors, etc) that I can take one hill giant? I'm trying to get multiple hill giants in the army. Of course, they won't be hill giants. One will be a T-Rex and the other will be the Giant Gorilla.

thanks,

Mark, FR

Mark,

I would suggest waiting about a week or so before finalizing your plans related to your new army. Reaper Peeps along with the Black Lightning have been working on the Rage Chronicles 2008 and I have to say, there are some interesting things in store for the Reven (along with just about everyone else) that might be worth waiting a short time to see what it is before making up your list.

I hope that not too much changes because we're planning a Warlord tournament as a battle report for the June issue of FR.

No one should panic about the changes, Gus and his team have proven reliable in taking the game in the right direction, and no doubt they will continue to do so. Unlike in the RC07 change where the whole feel of the game changed with the change to damage tracks and such, the changes being made now will probably just be about tweaking models and bringing everything into balance. We've had a year to play test and give feedback, now we'll see changes that reflect that. I think this year will likely see substantial tweaks so that next year we'll likely just see the addition of new cards and very minor changes.

I second Stubbdog's notion that you should wait on your build designs, because I believe changes may impact them (likely for the better). I'm not sure exactly what the time frame is, but I know Gus is talking days and weeks, not months.
