kristof65
Japan appoints cartoon ambassador Hmm. So, now that Japan's done it, who would the US appoint to the same position here? There's an obvious choice, but perhaps there are some cartoons who are better suited to represent America.
Kheprera
My very first thought for the US Cartoon Ambassador? Bugs Bunny.
Heisler
Mmm I would go for Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes
wildbill
That's easy: Sgt Slaughter from the G.I. Joe cartoon. Wild Bill
CuCulain42
Homer Simpson.
kristof65
Bugs Bunny was my first choice, too - but I'm also thinkign that Mickey Mouse is probably already our defacto cartoon ambassador. All of the other's are good choices, too - of course, as much as love Calvin, wouldn't him representing us to the world be askign for trouble - aren't we already viewed as rotten 6 year olds? joshuaslater
Most of the world sees our cartoon ambassador as Skeletor or Sgt. Slaughter already.

Exactly, but creative rotten six year olds. Calvin was nothing if not creative
Kheprera
I also considered Mickey, but I'm not partial to the mouse. I already have to share a birthday with him. Bugs actually has some diplomacy on his side, lots of tricks up his sleeve, and he works cheap (just keep him stocked in carrots). Or we could go with Tweety Bird. He seems innocent enough, but his bite is definately worse than his bark (just ask Sylvester). Calvin would only cause disaster. As much as I like Calvin, he'd cause too much trouble. We might do Bill the Cat, although his vocabulary is rather short. Opus could work.
dargrin
Wait, what about Godzilla? Doesn't already represent the US?
