When casting an area of effect spell, does the mage only roll once for all models involved or does the mage roll for each model in the affected area?

I cant find clarification. My thought would be roll once and that one roll pairs up to all MD.

Thanks

The complete rules for how AOE attacks are resolved can be found in the core rulebook in the magic section, in case you want to see the exact wording. The answer you got in this thread is accurate though, so don't feel like you've gotta check up on them.

Chiming in late here, due to my being on the other side of the planet. Wait, I'm 12 hours ahead of Denton time, so maybe I'm the first poster? ::D:

From the Errata & Clarifications section of ReaperGames:

C) Casting Checks for AoE Attack spells are rolled against each Model in the AoE. Some Models might be affected while others might not. Casting Checks for Non-Attack AoE spells are rolled a single time. All Models in the AoE are either affected or not.
