Warwick
These are cool Overlords icons. I like the ones with claw marks on the face. They don't say Gnome to me. Maybe a rock dripping blood? Are the gnomes so armored up? I don't know so I ask you.
shakhak
Here's something I slapped together. The symbol at top is similar to something that's on their warlord. It's something carved into that wooden thing on his back. I wanted to do a pile of spikes and bones at the bottom, but that's hard to do in black and white. So I did a bone shattering. I don't think Stubbdog is going for an armored up look, he's just using the Hoks' mask as inspiration.
T'Sarith DeGaalth
I have a complaint on the layout as well. The Faction Lists are in a separate section from the Faction Abilities which are in a separate section from the Fact Data Cards. This really drove me crazy about the 2007 document. I thought it was very inefficient to have to flip around to three different sections in the book for the details of each army. I really think that the Faction Lists, the Faction Abilities, and the Data Cards for each faction should be put together.
Stubbdog
Was actually using more of the Guards helmet as the inspire, but yes, also the Hoks. Those masks are really cool, its one of the main things that draw me to the gnomes. I also thought about something related to a crystal shard (bloodstone shard) but couldnt make one look good thatcold also shrink down to the teeny tiny icon size they hve on reapergames. In the final version it would be really helpful to have all of the Faction Lists and Faction Abilities on a page after the faction cover page, but before the stats. The whole reason this pre-layout document is separated like it is, and with no bookmarks, is because I have no PDF editing software with me here in Thailand. Last year, I had a volunteer (qwyksilver iirc) do the bookmarks for me. If anyone here can do this PDF editing (adding bookmarks and putting each faction together), please send me an email (gus at reapermini dot com)! However, I will make sure the final, layed out version is separated by faction. As for the BSG logo, #3 from the first post is my favorite. vutpakdi
For the Gnomes, maybe a spear thrusting up from the ground and dripping blood? Message sent about editing the pre-layout doc. Ron
Stubbdog
remember that a logo has to work when it is tiny. so anything dripping blood is probably not going to work. I did think about an arrow head type thing similar to the tunnel knights weapon to try and fit the aztec type feel that these models have. But, personally i just love the helmets. So that is what i did . This is not to say that this is the idea that Reaper will use at all.
spiritual_exorcist
Page 41: Necropolis Kaena and Bloodseeker should both be listed under a single Models that change From Unique to Non-Unique: header, as it stands they each have their own
vutpakdi
Working on combining the faction lists, abilities, and data cards now. Also will be adding bookmarks. Hopefully, I'll get the document reviewed and Gus will be able to distribute this evening (CDT). Ron PS: I'll also provide faction specific files to Gus. vutpakdi
Done and awaiting review. BL members: if you have a bit of time, would you please go to the BL forums and take a look at the review copy? I did a rush job, so I would really appreciate some eyeballs looking at the doc to make sure that I haven't done something stupid like leave out half of the Dwarves or put the wrong faction name in the wrong place. I'd like to get the okay and final versions to Gus by this evening (US CDT). Thank you for the kind thoughts. Yes, I do like hot wings though they aren't as much of a draw for me as for Bryan.
