RAGE Chronicles 2008 - Data Cards

Recommended Posts

I know where yall are coming from, and normally I'd agree, but AFAIK the cards should be approved any day now. I don't want to pester Kit to post the beta cards at CAVHQ when he'll be posting the approved cards in the near future.

How near was this future???

I mean now ::P:

I don't know man, I'm just a mod. IIRC the comment about finalization was on Mil-Net's boards.

<--- notice the lack of a "reaper" or "mil-net" logo

Any news on this topic? It has been over a month and RC08 is about to become RC09.

The complete lack of any communication is very distressing, I have hung in here when many others have bailed, but I am losing faith, FAST.

I've been on vacation with no internet connection. You might try asking over at Mil Net though I'm going to guess that they're enjoying the holidays as well.

I appreciate the reply Sarge, but no news there since before Thanksgiving, except for a couple of "Merry Xmas" posts from the peanut gallery. No appearance from the Mil-Net peeps that I have seen, probably enjoying the Holidays like you said. Looks like RC08 will be RC09(Beta) just in time for RC09(Actual) to start its 9 month incubation period and become RC10(Beta).

No, I'm not bitter, just resigned. Reaper appears to have forsaken Cav except for the occasional bone to the Dogs (Kraken, Crusader for example). If they put half as much interest in CAV2 as they do Reich of the Dead or Chronoscope we would have EVERY model in the game available already.

Mil-Net is carrying the torch for a company that as far as I can tell, no longer cares.

Hell, the distributors here don't even list Cav2 in their inventories anymore.

Oh well, no player interest here anyway, everyone plays Warmachine/Hordes/FoW/40K/WFB, including yours truly.

I haven't taken my Cavs out of the figure cases since July. :upside:

woof woof

I want my Crusader...

Last I heard RC08 was waiting on approval from Ed. Unforunately, all this happens to occur during the holidays. Which is a busy time for anyone. And being the holidays you can bet everyone at Reaper is pulling double duty with little extra time to do much else.

As for Chronoscope, remember its just a miniature line not a game. And its a good thing that its doing well. That way Reaper will have the extra cash flow to invest on other projects like a hardcopy of CAV2. Which is probably why we are seeing the Crusader and the Kraken finally. Those silvers cost a pretty penny.

I expect alot of CAV activity in the next quater.

The problem with that line of reasoning is that RC09 was supposedly 'on the verge' of approval months ago. Sgt. Crunch has a post from August telling us that he heard the cards might approved any day then. To use the holiday excuse for Reaper is just that. An excuse.

I have been into Cav for only a year-plus now and have been loyal - almost to the point of rabid. Yet, I find myself very much falling into the bitter/resigned line of thinking of those such as Gunfighter. Without even giving us an official version of RC09+cards and an integrated rulebook (not hardcopy. Just integrated. With all the erratas, updates etc. included) it is hard to continue giving Reaper and company any more benefit of the doubt. Come July, (when we may finally see RC09 entered as official and perhaps the Crusader and Kraken minis) I find it hard to believe that I, or any of my gaming group, will care.

I do not mean this as an attack on you Saint. The first paragraph was a response and then the rest just flowed. I have been too frustrated about this for too long and just needed to vent.

I understand your frustration and needing to vent... I've been involved with CAV for 5 years and I'll tell ya I'm not even the shadow of the fanboy of Reaper that I used to be.

One thing you need to realize though, the Crusader and the kraken are a major milestone with CAV. These are two new minis, not resized or mods, but brand spankin' new models. Something we haven't seen in years. It may not seem much but its a step in the right direction for CAV.

The DataCard release has been delayed because my 9-5 has taken more of my time as well as my home life.

I am working to get them cleaned up and published but you are correct they may very well become RC09

All i can do is ask for your forgiveness and thank you for your endurance.

Hey everyone, long time no see!

There is a gamer in my town interested in giving CAV a try (makes me a happy chappy), and so I will be sending him links this week and putting on a scenario next week (Ritterlich versus Terrans). I appreciate that Mad Pat and the folks at Milnet have 9-5ers that pay the bills, so I am not pushing here as much as wondering if there is any kind of ETA that I can pass along to this potential new player?

Thanks,

FH
