Here is my next entry in the Wannabe contest. Many thanks to everyone who offered critiques during the WIP phase, especially Lunchbox and Skya who had to put up with my incessant pm badgering. She is modeled after my wife (who will be getting her master's degree this weekend). It was my second go at NMM. The Korean in the book means "wisdom". Best of luck to all the entrants! As always, comments and critiques most welcome.

Looks great! I'm not fancying my chances to win at all after seeing this and other great entries! My one critique would be the cleanup of the middle ivory part with all the straps. It looks messy. But overall, just a minor nitpick. Good colors and a solid piece.

I love the reds and how they contrast with the cream & gold. Good pop and solid details, nice freehand in the book and scroll. The connection with your wife & her imminent graduation (congrats!) is a nice touch, too. Well done, Jab, very well done, indeed.

Very strong in all areas. I love dark skinned models. I'm currently painting a bunch of halflings about the shade you chose for her. The little details are amazing.

Thanks everyone! I am very pleased with her--perhaps my best to date, IMO. The reds were the carnage triad, shaded deepest with Red Liner. Highest highlights were clear orange with a very thin glaze of clear red to tone it back just a bit. The skin was Ruddy Leather/Oiled Leather/Burnt Orange with a bit of Brown Liner added for deepest shading and Yellowed Bone added for highest highlights. Still just a bit "orangy" compared to my wife's complexion, but getting closer...you'll see more dark skinned models from me in the future. ::):
