rgtriplec
I totally was oblivious to Dexter's Laboratory when it was a weekly show, but since having a baby... I am now versed on many things cartoon. A lot of you have probably seen the Dexter where they are playing D&D, but I saw it for the first time last night. I couldn't help but laugh, because they were pretty much right on with funny bits. Dexter's sister and chief irritant, Dee Dee, was the game master. Everyone was getting to be very cool high level characters, when it was Dexter's turn to get a character, he says something like "I want to be a level 27 Hero Mage with magic armor and a soul sucking sword" Dee Dee gives him a card, and says, "You can be this guy" It was a hobbit with the special ability of digging holes. Cute stuff.

Who needs an excuse? It's been years since I have seen that episode, but I do vaguely recall the special kind of terror felt when DeeDee was the person running it. kristof65
Who needs an excuse? Not me. As soon as Leno's over and my wife has gone to bed, I switch over the Disney channel to try and catch up on all the Buzz Lightyear, The Replacements and Kim Possible episodes (only 1 Kim Posible episode left). Sadly, I now find myself watching Hanna Montana occasionally, too. Wait, I'm not sure I should have admitted that...
rgtriplec
It's still not too late to edit that post, before someone quotes it.

rgtriplec
Hanna Montana, I wouldn't know about that, is that a town in Montana? Ignorance is bliss. You're one of the lucky ones. It's actually an inhumane torture device, used to drive the victim insane, not dissimilar to the Chinese water torture.
tanker22
Sure some of you remember the old AD&D cartoon that came out in the early eighties. You'll see it ever once in awhile now but not often. That had alot more potential to be pretty cool but I guess they were trying to apeal to the younger crowd and kept it tame. Even came out with a D&D movie a few years back if I remember correctly. And yes, I've seen that Dexter as well, Great episode. Reminds me of some of my old games What a group I used to play with!

I have the dvd boxed set of it. It's fun in a Saturday Morning Cartoon sort of way. Which, honestly, is exactly what that cartoon was. There are times we binge on it over the weekend, when everything else just looks like garbage.
SaintRigger
I'm a big fan of Dexter's Lab - especially the earlier years (prior its reworking in 2001) Family Guy and American Dad's "Seth MacFarlane" and Powerpuff girls/Foster's Home "Craig McCracken" also worked on it. I'm torn between favorite episodes - there is the dodgeball episode where he builds a giant dodgeball mech and the one where they go to a Star Trek convention and run into all sorts of Fandom. (I sometimes walk around chanting "N-R-F-B" :D
