Darkstar
Sorry for linking the pic, but she's pretty much fully nakers. Hasslefree's Artemis Painted with oils. 40mm scale resin miniature which is a wondrous sculpt and was a joy to paint. Thanks for looking. :)
Stern Kestrelmann
Sweet stuff dude. I saw this model and thought it looked like it would be fun. Nice skin and armorment (i.e. Shield and Magic Helmet). Any chance for a close-up or two? SK, the ever-lurking
scotty kahn
Thats a sweet paintjob! I really like the weathering on the sield and the skintones are very nice. I agree on needing close-ups, I'd like to see the face a little closer.
Darkstar
Heya Stern, thanks both for the comments, I'll see about getting a closeup when I can, her face and shield hopefully.
Angorak
WOW...simply WOW Great job. I've been toying with the idea of doing some larger scale mini's and using oils.
Star Drifter
That's more than just a little naked. (No problems here, though.) I wandered into the Hasslefree site to see what you did freehand and what was part of the mini -- you did well enough that was hard to tell. Now I'm even more impressed. Thank you for sharing. LunchBox
Heya Stern, thanks both for the comments, I'll see about getting a closeup when I can, her face and shield hopefully. Uhhmmm...I don't think it's the face and shield they want close ups of... Great looking mini...the skin tones, and metals are terrific! Darkstar
Thanks guys, very much obliged, glad you like! SK here are the closeups, special for you: Shield closeup Artemis closeup I really love oils and all the super effects you can get being able to blend everything so nicely, from clean blends to aged, beaten and battle scarred paint chips etc... @Angorak: Yeah man, I say don't hesitate at all to dive in with oils, it's pretty liberating stuff having the freedom to blend with ease and of course they glaze like a dream. Just a basic kit of starter colors is all you need if you can mix colors, I have a grand total of 9 oil paints and 3 mediums, all colors possible mixed from those basics. If you do go for it later I have a great site bookmarked with excellent tutorials and color mixes here at Historicus Forma, these guys are *Masters* and share a great deal of knowledge: http://www.hfmodeling.com/modules.php?op=m...es&secid=
DavidVC04
I don't know why I visit these boards. It's either inspiration or desperation at my own painting skills. Well, putting my own dilemma aside. It's marvelous. Kudos. Thanks for the closeups. I love that shield.
tanker22
Excellent job on her, she is really nice looking. I love the skin and the effects on the shield. At last another oil painter! Yep, hard to beat the blending and tones once you get it down pretty good. I really like this mini, may have to pick it up sometime. I have some new found insperation now. Keep'em coming! Heisler
I love this mini and if you were at RCon '08 you could see two of Jeremie's versions of it up close and personal. However, something has always bothered me about it and I just figured out what it is. She's left handed she'll have to learn to fight right handed to fight in the greek phalanx
