Moderator Froggy the Great Posted May 30, 2008 Moderator Share Posted May 30, 2008 I haven't painted in long enough that my rinse-water tub dried out and the paint in it precipitated into a crust on the bottom. Here's trying to fix that.

Ishil
Ooooh, nice satellite. We see it here just as it is about to unleash the death ray that will vapourise the remote island James Bond is standing on... Ishil
scotty kahn
is the orbiter a custom job or is that a stock model from somewhre? I'd really like to get one if its the latter. Also what did you use to get the glossy blood in the pool? (hopefully something cheaper than envirotex)
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted June 1, 2008 Author Moderator Share Posted June 1, 2008 The pool is the stone ring from the cultists townsfolk pack. I glued it to some plastic from the Warlord card-protectors, trimmed round the edge, and then mixed brown and red ink in the well itself. The mix was very wet, so it pooled fairly realistically. to get the glow, I took the picture on a white sheet of paper, so that the white showed through. The orbiter is the C&C module of a Babylon 5 mini that I'd dropped and broken. The fins are the solar panels from the rear of the station. Don Rodolfo Graziani
Hey Froggy the Great, I'd wondered how you did the pool effect there. It has such a feeling of depth to it and I'd been puzzling over it. Very nice. I knew the satellite was familiar somehow. Been bugging the back of my brain since it was posted. Thanks. cool stuff. Ishil
No, it was B4 that disappeared. Ishil
Mr.Wizard
Pardon me, Herr Froschmeister, did you say you used ink straight from the bottle? Is that where the gloss come from?
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted June 6, 2008 Author Moderator Share Posted June 6, 2008 Ink straight from the bottle and about 2:1 ink:water.
