Moderator Froggy the Great Posted July 12, 2008 Moderator Share Posted July 12, 2008 I painted these last week while I was in NY. I'm pleased with how Ellen came out, less pleased with Jack, and the orc-kid was a basecoat/dip job.
Nial ap Morai
Ellen looks good, maybe try a finer/sandy basing or paint the stones to give more contrast, give a more desert/'Fist full of dollars' feal. I like Jack as well, except for the eyes, I have problems with those too. He has a good Pulp fiction / Call of Cathulu feal. What do you mean by Dip Job? I understand that as painting straight from the 'pot'..??
Sergeant_Crunch
Looks like Jack could've benefited from some gap filling at the shoulders. The browns on the pants, jacket, and hat are good, but the darklining on the shirt seems to be too dark. The other two look great.
Toad
Very nice leather work.
Dragon Snack
You painted minis while you were back here? Not like I should be surprised... What do you mean by Dip Job? I understand that as painting straight from the 'pot'..?? Not at all. It's a quick way to do "shading"... Here's a post that explains the method: http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?...st&p=187358
haldir
love the shading on the leather. I'll have to probe your brain on Trillian for that. ha ha RM

Spike
I really like the colour choices on the Ellen Stone. Where'd you find that orc kid?
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted July 14, 2008 Author Moderator Share Posted July 14, 2008 The kid is an old Shadow Corps mini, with thumb modified so he's a thumbsucker.
