cutebutpsycho
He appears to be quite shiney. Perhaps you could hit him with a layer of dullcoat?
justright
He appears to be quite shiney. Perhaps you could hit him with a layer of dullcoat? i see that as well, i used micro's flat , diluted about 50/50 , and airbrushed it on. what would you suggest or how do you dull coat your figs? thanks
Evilbob
Dullcote: Testors Sprayon Dullcote. about $4/can. works great. Not a good sealer, but will dull it down well. Dont get to close or too heavy or it will make it shinier. Mini: ooo, soo cool. Did you cut the top off a lego for his base? I would put a bit more colors/grey/or some more shades/washes on the base to make it look more integral.
DavidVC04
I apply gloss varnish first for protection, matte varnish, and then testor's dullcoat.

I would put a bit more colors/grey/or some more shades/washes on the base to make it look more integral. that is actual plasticard cut up, then i used plasticard hexagon tubing cutting thin slices, the steps are the same tubing bent with a pair of needle nose pliers , the rock is a chunk of cement, i used iraqi sand for the base, then went over it with a mix of windsor and newton peat ink, thinned with color float and water, i love to do my inking with flow extender or color float. anyhow when you mix those two it makes for a nice wwii desert pink that you see in the north africa campaign, i lost the effect due to the luster of my clear coat i think. the picture takes away from it to, but i'll get better im sure
Beowulfthehunter
I love the paintjob on this model topnotch. The gloss realy does not bother me all that much on this figure. I think because of all the armor and spandex. However the base kills it for me. It is just too monochrome. I think you need to an a contrasting color or something. Like a dark wash.
