Sergeant_Crunch
I would recommend changing plan b to "bring woman wearing a push-up bra and v-neck t-shirt to distract other player." This can be a gamble though as you run the risk of becoming distracted yourself. Another possible downside is if your opponent is a woman, probably not much distraction potential there. In that situation I would revert back to your original plan b.
Nanite
Pictures of the next set are here: http://www.monsterpocalypse.com/story/all-...n-and-checklist I'll skip the case buying this time. Because of brokeness. But it looks like a much easier set to collect. Super special Bonus: The Green Fury van is an old VW Microbus. With a gun on top. Killer hippies, awesome. I don't know if I'm going to buy into the new set after this though. The factions sound cool, but I've already got loads of the first factions, and then there's the whole brokeness thing. Lars Porsenna
Ah, and thus begins the death of the pre-painted collectable game. I give it a couple more years. Damon.
Nanite
If that. My discretionary spending is down to negative territory. Economists are saying things have bottomed out, but I'm not feeling it, and if it really has, it will be another six months to a year before any recovery is actually felt widely. Even a game like Monsterpocalypse that has a fairly easy collecting model is a hard sell for me (to buy more of, anyway).
Beowulfthehunter
You guys interested in this game at all, my LGS has the stuff at 40% off and I swear it is increasing every week more.
Heisler
It is amazing how widely a game can fluctuate in popularity from one portion of the country to another. My FLGS can't hardly keep it on the shelves and yet here is another one that is trying to desperately to get rid of it. I think that really shows how much the interests of gamers in an area reflect on what a game store can carry and what it should not carry. Nanite
Support is a big factor too. It sells like gangbusters here, still, but we have several really great FLSG's and Privateer agents (PressGangers?).
Erion
We had a guy who was really into running it, but he dropped off the face of the earth. The handful of us that still played at home are trying to convince the owner to start scheduling events for us again when the new set drops. When we were playing in store, he couldn't keep it on the shelves.
Beowulfthehunter
That is the thing, we have no support for any of our games. The LGS owner puts it on the shelves and hopes it will sell. Sadly it is the only place in town.
Nanite
I bought a couple packs fo the new set. Morphers are spiffy. The do raise lots of questions though. Actually, can I attack my own units? The Green Fury Vans grant Munch, and it would be usueful to hang back one of the Alpha form trucks, next to a green fury van, and a carnidon or something. Nanite
Whole new big set is out in October. Damon is right, it's downhill from here, at least for me.
Erion
We didn't even do a case order for Set 3. Doubles of monsters (or half units) was the breaking point.
Nanite
All Your Base seems like a pretty mediocre release in hindsight. Morphers are a neat idea, same with bases, but the excecution was a bit off. I hate to say it but I'm getting excited for the new set: http://teamcovenant.com/08/14/2009/gencon-...e-now-monsters/
Erion
I'll get the stuff I want from "all your base", but as singles off the internet. No way were we going to buy double the number of monsters we needed to make sure we each got one of the monsters we wanted.
Nanite
With the closing of Z-Games, I haven't played much at all. The new rulebook and quick reference sheet are up: http://monsterpocalypse.com/free-stuff#mp4 While it's not as bad as say the Star Wars miniatures game, the abilities creep is getting long.
