staks
Hi guys, I am in the process of (fingers crossed) putting together a small miniature gaming system in the hopes to produce and publish it. One thing I do need is a sculptor to produce miniatures for the gaming system. I only want a couple done at first, but will need to eventually have about 15+ different sculpts capable of being cast. Can someone please point me in the direction where to find and contact such sculptors capable of 28 - 32mm work? I would need the sculpts to be of a reasonably high quality. Many thanks, Staks
Stubbdog
Well, for the most part ALL sculptors are freelancers. I am sure that all sculptors are interested if the price is right. Several of the sculptors that sculpt for Reaper also come and hang out here in the forums now an again. Tre Manor - SIGIL - http://www.red-box-games.com Jason Weibe - GwydionGreen - http://www.pariahartworks.com/ Derek Schubert - dks - ? etc... I wont even begin to know the price levels and such, I am no sculptor. But, for example with those three I just mentioned above, I might send them a PM or go visit their websites. Do you have artwork ? What scale ? What level of sculpture do you want ? What style ? Are you sure there is no IP infringement what so ever in your artwork, system or any other aspect ? That may sound pessimist, but think of it, you want the best and the sculptor want the best also. Hope it helps !
Bodhi
Wouldn't be surprised if your little call out here has allready resulted in you receiving a few mails from sculptors? Most of us are quite eager to grab opportunities like this (not me though - I'm to slow) Would be interested in hearing how things are going for you. Jeff LaMarche
One thing I do need is a sculptor to produce miniatures for the gaming system Don't know if you're still looking - I know there are several very good sculptors on here, but another place to post would be the Yahoo 1ListSculpting mailing list at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1ListSculpting/ It's been pretty quiet of late, but many of the big name, and an awful lot of not-so-big name sculptors lurk there, and even post occasionally. There are over 4500 members on the list last time I checked, although most are amateurs like me, there are still a goodly number of pros mixed in. The list isn't big on spammy-sounding e-mails, but a simple "I'm looking for a sculptor to do X" along with some good details about the project is always appreciated and will probably result in at least a good half-dozen sculptors contacting you. Best of luck with your venture.
