It all looks very nice! I really like the skin tone. One question though, the helmet looks like true metalic and the axe and shin pieces look like NMM, am I wrong?

Thanks for the kind comments. I always like to post here first before my ego gets bruised on CMON :poke:

Scotty, all the metal is true metallics shaded with various paints as has been described on this site by better painters than me.

Very very nice. Good job on the metallics, my favorite parts are the front side of the axe blade and the back side of his uppper arm bracelet. Yeah, that purple definately adds something extra! Nice smooth skintones, good depth of colors there. And great work on the jewels too!

My only nitpick would be that I would like to see a little bit more darklining in a few places, like around the orc face at his waist and on the metallics where your golds and silvers meet. Not much, just a smidge more to help define the edges a little better. Maybe a little more dark washing in the relief of the filigree on his necklace and bracers.

beautiful work overall... I really like it!

Excellent! It IS a cool sculpt, and you've done a great job with it. You seem to be a very skilled painter - are you ready for the REAL challenge of making his kilt plaid?!! :)

My only criticism is that the base doesn't seem to match the mini. He looks like some kind of highlander type. I'd expect him on some kind of turf, or rock that wasn't so black, but more brownish. That's just a nitpick, though.

Your skintones are wonderful, and your overall blending is fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

I like this one too. Your blends are getting smoother and smoother. Next step....work on those bases!! :o) Your gems are really good!! Maybe just a bit more contrast in "light to dark" on the metals...mainly the shin guards and the belt buckle. You want the WOW factor on those areas...same as what you have acheived on the axe handle. Anyways, excellent job!!!!

Thanks! Better bases are definately next on my list. I've admired your painting for a long time and appreciate your comments. I purchased Jeremie's painting DVD and find it a great help. I plan on putting his section on basing to great use!
