Chronscope minis we'd like to see thread 2

Recommended Posts

I'ld like some variations of not-Eddie from not-Iron Maiden covers. Did I throw in enough 'nots' to avoid TM violation with my post?

Perhaps one more would be sufficient. But I seriously LOVE this idea! I can see the not-Eddie from the not-Killers album cover leading a horde in the zombie apocalypse, or the not-Eddie cyborg gunslinger from the not-Somewhere in time album cover leading a band of space pirates, or.....

I was just looking for modern-ish day investigators for a Cthulhu type game, and discovered that there really aren't any women (except for Professor Laura Pringle, and she's not exactly an in-the-field type.).

So may I request something along the lines of the following women?

A plucky circa. 1900 globe-hopping female journalist

A hard-boiled circa. 1920-30 female investigative journalist (female equivalents of the male Reaper "muckrakers")

A young woman detective, old Nancy Drew style

I'm sure that somewhere in the sixty-five pages of this thread there have been lots of robots mentioned, but...

Another company has put out a "robot kit", with lots of parts for putting together your own bots. While you get 13 base bodies, all the parts are different so you can't build a "line" of similar bots.

How about a set of plastic bot parts? Especially since us Traveller (or the Star Wars) players are always in need of robots.

I'd like to see more Lovecraftian monsters. Especially

Deep Ones

Mi-go

Elder Things.

I'd also like to see Reaper try it's hand at Barsoomian Sword-&-Planet figures:

Earthling warlord and his Martian Princess.

Generic Martians (which could be painted Red, White, Black, Yellow, etc)

Green Martians.

White Apes, Bants, Apts, Calots, Thoats.

Please, could we have one, just one lady in a big foofy dress from circa. 1845-1865?

There is a whole passel of good examples here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/empress-eugenie-surrounded-by-her-ladies-in-waiting-franz-xaver-winterhalter.html

There is clearly something of a need for this. There is a relative handful of female models for historical wargaming, and they mostly tend to look like the more mannish colonialists of the 1880s, with long tight skirts and long, tight sleeves and umbrellas. I am so frustrated at seeing modelers obsess over every tiny detail of their historical armies' uniforms and then say, "meh, any female figure with a long skirt and bonnet will do."

One figure in one of those confections could be modded into so much useful for the middle third of the nineteenth century, to say nothing of big foofy fantasy dresses.

What about the Visbaronetess?

ETA: Probably not foofy enough?

Rather too ridiculous. Plus, if she's the only one to be found, that's rather sad.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not, if so consider this a '+1' vote.

Aliens!! The H.R.Giger inspired ones from the movies, that is. Also, expand the IMEF line with a few more guys/girls. They make pretty good stand in Colonial Marines.

I want more hat sprues... particularly a steampunk hat sprue. I use Reaper hat sprues like nobody's business, but I need a hat sprue that has:

*Top hats, with and without goggles.
*British infantry helmets, as seen in "Zulu."
*Derbies.
*Fedoras
*Whatever those short toppers are called.
*Straw boaters, like those worn by barbershop quartets.
*Shakos
*....hell, maybe even a beer hat. You know, with the two can holders and the plastic tubing?

I would like to see a secret agent in a suit holding a briefcase while talking into his shoe (as if it were a phone).

Another similar but different squad of IMEF would be nice too. Y'know...the other squad who the main squad sometimes have to work with.

And could that IMEF squad please have at least one female member who is armored and acts like one of the male members? That is, a reasonably burly woman in standard IMEF armor with female modifications but not breast cups who is running, shooting, or otherwise engaged in combat.

The current female IMEF soldier is cute, but she looks like the team mascot rather than one of the soldiers.

I saw her as more of in a stripped down armor for mobility options. She's the stay pretty damn far away and provide cover with the anti-material rifle she's got. There are also a few other minis that kind of match her for other lightly armored characters though by other companies (CMON: Mech Pilot and MicroArts: Sarah Anderson) that are pretty simple to convert into other specialists (Medic and Tech).

Okay, sure, that's a fine role to have a figure fill, but why is it filled by the only female on the squad, and why is she wearing space-boob-plate? She's fine in a vacuum, but you have to acknowledge that (a) there is only one woman on the squad, (b) she is clearly sexed up, when none of the men are, and © she's in an extremely passive pose, when all the men are in action poses.

The issue isn't the one figure, it's the fact that she is the only woman. Thus, Pingo's request for more female IMEF soldiers. Context is important!

She looks like pre-Qeen of Blades Kerrigan...

But for something I'd love to see, an IMEF conversion kit with various things having the logo, a couple of the guns, and bits of gear. I'm considering getting a few M113 kits for my use of the squad and a few extras from other sources (Think of them as something akin to X-Com)
