hoboman123123
Hi all, Im new to this whole panting thing so im not exactly sure what everythig is. Anyways i was wondering if anyone knew any models that are good to start off with. Not to complicated and give me a chance to try out some simple techniques. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Doug's Workshop
First, welcome to the wonderful world of painting, hoboman! If you haven't seen them yet, I love Reaper's Learn-to-Paint kits. The miniatures are chosen so they reflect what techniques will be used, and they aren't so filled with detail that a beginner is put off by them. Otherwise, pick up a couple miniatures that catch your eye. Reaper's are great and moderately priced. GW's are stylized and more expensive. Both offer fantasy or sci-fi options. Look through the racks at your Friendly Local Game Store (if you have one) and pick out a model with only minor mold lines that screams "YOU NEED TO PAINT ME!!!" Be warned, though. As you progress in this hobby, the voices of the miniatures get louder, and if you're not careful you'll end up with a closet full of unpainted metal! Welcome to the ranks! -Doug

l33t ninj4
I agree with Doug, don't let this hobby consume you like most of us! But yeah Reaper makes great models to learn on. Most of us here still get Reaper just to try a new technique. And take your time, remember that Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will award winning minis.
