Welcome to the hobby! It's tough to critique this fella from the photo, but I think it is a nice first effort. It looks like you have done some shading and a bit of darklining from what I can see. Adding a bit of flock to the base will add some more to the presentation. What happened to the poor guy's left hand?

I think this gentleman's skin looks quite nice; some good highlights coming up there. I think the biggest thing we could say at this point is just to thin your paints a bit more, which will help with some of the chalky look you've got in places. It'll also help some of the thick buildup on the front of his mouth (although thinned whites and ivories take lots of patience )

I'll second Jabber's point that your darklining--especially around his leather shoulder strap--is an excellent thing to see from a beginning painter!

Thanks Sanael. With the skin I think next time i paint up an ork im gonna try and make the highlights more subtle. Im not entirly sure if this would help with a smoother transition from the dark to light but it might be worth a shot.

Also i agree that i should try and thin my paints further. I have experimented and they always seem to come out either to thick or to thin. I guess its just something ill need to get used to doing.

Anyways, thanks for the help ::D:

Welcome hobo! Good job for your first mini! Hopefully you found it as addicting as us other mini-nuts, because as you continue to develop you will be able to see how your progression increases with each mini!Looks like you have a good understanding of shading and highlighting already, something it took me over a year to really find it's relevence in a mini!
