Ghaz
I'm painting some Sci-Fi Troopers using Shadowed Stone as the base for the fatigues and Ultramarine Blue for the armor with black weapons. My question is which color would look better for the boots and pouches? I can't decide between a Walnut Brown base or simple Black? Or would you recommend some other color instead? Thanks. demonelf3
Personally I'd go with the best of both worlds. BC with Walnut and Shade with black, then highlight with some blue, to tie in with the armor. Happy painting!
All-Terrain Monkey
I'd actually recommend sticking with browner hues and highlighting a bit towards Orange to work in a complementary color to the blue.
tabascojunkie
As long as the belt matches the shoes.
Ghaz
I'd actually recommend sticking with browner hues and highlighting a bit towards Orange to work in a complementary color to the blue. So how does Ruddy Leather from the Burnt Colors triad sound?
All-Terrain Monkey
Basecoat with the blackened brown, then highlight with the ruddy leather and the next color up (Burnt Orange, I think? My paints aren't next to me atm).
psyberwolfe1
I would start at intense brown as the dark tone, and then work my way through the "leather triad". After that I would glaze Intense Brown over it to pull it all together.
