pae
I'm wondering if the LE line will come down in price too, with the announcement Big Daddy Ed made. Considering how much tin there is (or rather, isn't) in plastic, I'd say doubtful.
joshuaslater
From the hands of Big Daddy Ed: "Q – What product lines will use this new pricing formula? A – All future new releases into product lines currently in production as well as all cancelled numbers and parts in our online store." Now I know that the whole post was in regards to the price of tin in China, but this bit made me wonder about the LE plastics.
All-Terrain Monkey
I think logic > semantics for this one; there's a big difference between dropping the cost of items you make in-house due to raw materials being cheaper and lowering the price on a product made completely by a third party supplier. Even with the cost of crude being somewhat cheaper than when it spiked recently, just because the price goes down doesn't mean the supplier will pass those savings on to Reaper. joshuaslater
You and your unassailable logic. You're right, but I still hold out hope. I'm real happy with the LE line.
Sergeant_Crunch
I'd like to reiterate the "your game's standard bases isn't the same as my game's standard base" point. Having to cut off a base so I could fit the mini to another would just be a pain in the butt that would put me off from buying. If washers and coins aren't what you want to do or you need a certain geometry I have two words for you: Litko Aerosystems. They have a bit of a long lead time on them, but their product is excellent and they will take special orders to fit your needs.
morganm
As for multi-packs. I understand the decision not to offer them in multipacks on the retail side, but given the advantages of direct web sales, would it be feasible to do "bulk packaging" discounts for web orders? Say someone orders ten or more of the same fig via your web-store, rather than getting 10 blisters, they would get a plastic baggy with their ten figures, and a small 5-20% discount for ordering in bulk. I'm not sure if that would cause conflicts with your distribution chain, just thought I'd toss the idea out there as food for thought. If it were 20% cheaper, in a bag, and no swag I'd be happy as hell to buy a bag of orcs or skeles. That's right; I'd give up the swag for 20% off. I don't care if it's in a blister or even tagged in any way; just throw the stuff in a bag, box, or even an old used hair net and ship it off! As it stands; there's really no reason I would even buy the 3 packs of orcs and skeletons. I know it's not apples to apples but the fact is I can buy DDM orcs and skeletons by the fist full for way cheaper than LE's (even at 20% off!) Hell at the price of P65's now the only point in buying an LE is the paint job. Personaly I'm buying the P65s and happy to leave them unpainted as I'd take an unpainted metal over a painted plastic any day when the prices are within pennies of eachother. I also agree with the original poster; LE bases are terrible for gaming. Several of them fall over if you even look at them funny and a bump to the table brings them all to their knees. As lame as the DDM bases look they are stable!
Halberkill
If it were 20% cheaper, in a bag, and no swag I'd be happy as hell to buy a bag of orcs or skeles. That's right; I'd give up the swag for 20% off. I don't care if it's in a blister or even tagged in any way; just throw the stuff in a bag, box, or even an old used hair net and ship it off! Agreed! Hell at the price of P65's now the only point in buying an LE is the paint job. Disagreed! I would prefer to have minis that don't contain lead. morganm
Why? You're not going to get "lead poisoning" from them.
Dragon Snack
Maybe he chews his minis? Who are we to judge? Actually, if he has little ones, I can see avoiding lead minis. Those things get into everything (the little ones, not the lead minis)... It should be noted though, that the regular Reaper minis don't say "lead free" for a reason (although I do believe that it was posted that the levels are so low they legally could, but that Reaper didn't want to mislead their customers into thinking that there was none at all). Dr.Bedlam
Aw, pffft. If yer figures rock, then I will buy them, and stick them on whatever base I damn well please. If they suck, I will not buy them. Price is important; the cheaper the figure, the more likely I will buy. I go hog wild every year when Dragon's Lair in Austin discounts their Reaper stuff. Yeah, I'm a junkie; I admit it. I'd just as soon buy the wooden discs at Hobby Lobby than have Reaper jack their prices unnecessarily. DARK ELF
i play the ddm game, and Reaper minis is the sh@t!! great for proxies. all i do is glue to round G.W base and im done. but if Reaper put out some round plastic bases,i would buy them. but not havin' the bases, would not stop me from buying the minis! they are a lil' tall.(with the G.W bases.) but Wizards has done a poor job of keepin' their stuff to scale,so that is not a big deal to me. i have all of your PPP minis, and cant wait for some more to come out! thank you Reaper, for all of your hard work!!
