Ooh...I like him. That green is a heckuva lot brighter than I usually make my goblins/orcs, but it looks really nice, especially against the colors you gave his clothes. Your browns and yellows on his robe are really nicely done, too.

One thing I'm seeing is that the broccoli-grass he's standing on is very similar in color to his skin. If you've got a limited supply of paint colors at this point, you might try basing the "grass" with something darker, like a dark brown, then pulling it up into green, rather than starting green and then washing in some brown, which is what I think it looks like you've done here. If nothing else, this will help his toes under his robe pop a bit more.

Just noticed; I'm also digging the skull/jawbone on his staff; some nice work on those bones.

I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't called my attention to it, but this figure totally looks like Yoda!

I really like the work you've done on the bones and skulls, and I enjoy the different white you used for his beard. I also really like the earthtones you've dressed him in--they work well for this mini.

Congrats on doing such a nice job on what I consider to be a pretty tough mini to paint. There's just sooo many strange little details to worry about, but you've done well with each of them..especially the staff and his hair and beard.

And now poor Surkar is hereafter imbued with the voice of Frank Oz.

That's for the comments, everyone!

Sanael: You're right, the greens on his skin and the grass are kind of similar. I actually did the base as you suggested. Unfortunately, since I did him in greens and browns, whichever of those tones I went with was destined to blend with something. :p

Spike: Yeah, he's got a ton of fiddly bits. As you paint him, you just keep finding more...and more...and more!
