Reven

Recommended Posts

So, after talking about Kagunk as a Change of Heart Merc, I had to make a couple lists with him as a true Reven. One is based on muscle, the other is based on model count.

The idea on both lists is fairly the same, just not sure which would do a better job. Would be interesting to see.

The pair of Gondas in each troop, one blesses while the other Divine Vigors Kagunk.

Greka tosses around a couple of Ironskins on Kagunks and then Beguiles people thru her familiar.

With the combo of Battle Totem, Bless, and support, they should get some decent MAVs. One list obviously has a lot more models, but the muscle list has 11 models with Tough 2 and the ability to re-roll missed tough checks if killed by defensive strikes. Hopefully that would mean that I could stand a few of them back up.

And I just love the goblin riders. To be honest, bang for the buck, they are one of my very favorite data cards in the game. They have speed, they have the swings, decent MAV for cheap soldiers. Sure, they dont have a high DV, but they have always performed well for me.

Only real question I have on these lists is whether the muscle list even needs the Totem. It really only helps their beginning MAVs. Since the Bull Orcs get stronger as they get hit they dont necessarily need that extra MAV later on. I might consider swapping that for the Hunting Beast and its trampling goodness.

Anyone using Kagunk or Nor'Okk, looking at them they seem pretty cool! ordered both of them!

I've just started playing, but Nor'Okk has been doing well. I try to keep him behind a line of Orcs so he can use his Reach ability to best effect. When I get around to assembling Kagunk, I imagine I'll play similarly.

I have been collecting Reaper models for a long time. I think I have enough orcs, ogres, and bugbears to maybe do a Reven army to bring to Reaper Con. The tournament sounds like fun.

I have played Warlord before but only a few games and I think some of them were the first version. So I don't have much to go on in the way of a current list. Is this the correct thread to post in to ask for assistance? I could use some help identifying some figs that are proxy model candidates.

From memory: I know I have 6 goblin skeeters, 3 beastman woodcutters, 3 bugbears (at least), and 2 ettins (giant-scale fellows with two heads and two clubs, each) that are I know are Reaper models. If this is the proper thread I'll make a longer, better post.

By all means, you can ask about Reven stuff here. Or you can start a new thread dedicated to your stuff over in Warlord general.

In terms of identifying models, possible army builds, and such, we can help, but you can also use the army creator over at www.reapergames.com as it will give you the datacards and pictures as well.
