spiritual_exorcist
Not sure how it would fair either, but it would be fun to play.
Gilfalas
I think your list would maybe work vs mass armies but won't do well vs heavy armored lists or cavalry as they are not that easy to pick out with barrage. You plan to test the list? I really love those barrage actions on multiplayer games when there are melee fights where no1 of your units is involved and you can do maximum damage. I tweaked my list a bit as I recognized that poison doesn't make much sense on assassins and threw in musicians. Thanks for the advise shakandara:) Overlords - 999 points Troop 1 General Matisse, Spiked Armor Moraia, Warbride x 2 Ranthe, Evangelist of Khardullis Overlord Warrior x 3 Overlord Spearman x 4, Musician Troop 2 Merack of the Onyx Phalanx, Spiked Armor Onyx Phalanx x 4, Musician Overlord Crossbowman x 3 Troop 3 Incarnation of Flame Troop 4 Albatross Amulet

spiritual_exorcist
What I believe in is mixed troops, meaning you will have better overall success if you mix the soldiers you have into different troops, rather than keeping them homogenous. While a troop of warriors by themselves is fine, a troop of bondslaves by themselves will almost certainly be fodder if you intend to use them as anything but roadblocks. In the instance of mixed troops you can employ your bondslaves as support for your warriors, and any defensive strikes allocated to kill a bondslave are defensive strikes that aren't allocated to attacking your warriors. Should you choose to you can still use the bondslaves as speed bumps. Oh, and bondslaves are great sources of healing for Ashkrypt, so keep a few close to him. Also, it is cool to have a troop of ranged attackers, but you might be suprised just how much better ranged attackers can be in certain situations when combined with melee and magic in the same activation. A combined arms approach works very well for the overlords With regards to Moria and Kevis, it comes down to a trade off, you can't have everything, and I've deemed having Ymrilix as something that would possibly be the better alternative. My argument would be that you have plenty of magic already, and that while Moria is alright having a tank like Ymrilix at the centre of your army is invaluable. The more models your opponent sees as a real threat in your army, the greater likelihood his strategy will be thrown for a loop if he tries to deal with everything at once. In the army Ashkrypt, Balthon, Ymrilix, and the Golem are all meaty models that the enemy must take serious note of, I don't think Kevis or Moria fall into that category. Let us know what you decide, and how it goes. -Aaron
mean green crusader
Thanks I like that perspective I was keeping the shooters together for locked shields, otherwise the mix and match theory makes great sense. Frank

I still think you might be better off going with a couple meatier troops rather than three. If you are worried about giving up the initiative card you could always buy a book of tactics. If I was going character heavy with no ranged attacks I'd juggle your list a little: Overlords - 1000 points(Lich's Bidding Doctrine) Troop 1 Ashkrypt, Lichlord of Craclaw +Familiar Ranthe, Evangelist of Khardullis Ymrilix the False x 2 (two is better than one) Overlord Warrior x 4 Bondslave x 4 Troop 2 Thurion, Blackguard Balthon, Priest of Khardullis Overlord Warrior x 4 Bondslave x 4 Troop 3 Onyx Golem +Luck Stone An alternative would be to drop the luckstone and Golem, and add Xailor and another bond slave. I really like Xailor, although i might just be that I love his sculpt. OR Drop the Golem, and add 3 warriors, 3 bondslaves and a book of tactics

spiritual_exorcist
My biggest concern with that is Troop 3, it is awefully dainty, especially if your opponent employs large troops. Still worth having a go to see.
