murakumo
Does anyone know where I could obtain some of the reaper skulls used for their paint bottles? I'd prefer to use reapers since the copper BB's I used a while back discolored some of my lighter shades >.> and I know reapers works with every shade. I'm repotting several colors so I would need a few of them (probably at the least 20) I heard they sold them at reapercon but I was sadly not able to attend... Thanks in advance for any help... Rastl
You can use sprue as well. It's the same material.
Bumble_B
I heard they sold them at reapercon INCORRECT!! Unless I was lied to by about a half a dozen people. I asked just about everyone and they don't just sell the skulls. I cheated though and got a whole bunch of the "heads" reaper has for there sculpting line. I transfered my entire P3 collection over to bottles this last week and ripped through every head I got and then some :) (50+ easy) I could have just used regular old pewter bits ... but wheres the style in that? "Whats that rattling in your paint bottle?" "Someones head! MUWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAA!!!! " /EvilGenius
murakumo
hmmm well then I may just have to go take my razor saw to a few of my less loved miniatures.... I have a bunch that I probably will never paint that can become tiny bits and pieces for painting... thanks anyways.
cutebutpsycho
Yeah, this year they weren't selling the skulls. Apparently they discontinued that practice-which was only a practice for Reapercon before anyway. I'd recommend taking those sprue bits from the multi part minis, or extra pieces from ones with options for heads, weapons, whatever, and using those. Worst case scenario, you can always order a weapons pack or some such because those are chock full of sprue!

That's an excellent idea... especially since I just ordered the new mutation sprue which has a butt load of the sprues attached. Thanks again for the sugestions. Inarah
I, too, was disappointed that they stopped selling the skulls. Next year I am getting more of these: http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/75010 http://www.reapermini.com/FigureFinder#detail/02611

tallyrand
I just use glass beads in my paint pots... I didn't know you could have skulls. Skulls are much cooler.
murakumo
Yeah Reaper actually adds a tiny pewter skull to each MSP paint bottle. Thanks to a late night cutting binge with my sprue cutter I now have a hundred tiny pewter bits to add to my paint.

So what your saying is "Use sprue, right?" DR BEDLAM quote: ..."they don't sell the skull sprues any more? I must have a dozen of them!" if your thinking of same sprues I'm thinking of, they were all of various size & not just human skeleton skulls. They'd work but the pot O skulls would work so much better. Reminds I still have mind from RCON 05 (still sitting on nightstand by the bed, ha ha)
cutebutpsycho
I was terrified at the thought of murakumo cutting up perfectly good minis to use things like their hands as agitators-that's why I recommended specific sprues. Now I can rest easy knowing no minis were sacrificed.
murakumo
ahhh... if only you knew..... *laughs evily before coughing since he has the flu* meck.... actually Just joking... I wouldn't destroy a mini for no reason... if all else fails I have some magic treasure objects I'll never use that are a good enough size to fit in a pot. awong
Instead of beheading healthy minis (OK, the sickly ones can be sacrificed), I've been using split-shot lead fishing weights...the smaller ones. I went to a local Big 5 and bought a smallish bag for about $4 and that let me re-bottle a whole mess o'paint. I guess if you look at them just so, they still look like a head...pac-man's

See I bought a load of BB pellets form the exact same store... but apparently their slowly leaching stuff into my paints.... which is bad.... obviously... do you know if these weights are treated in any way? Thanks, Wes
