Warlord 2.0 pre-order?

I have to agree, right now a miniatures rulebook for $20 is pretty much unheard of. Its a much easier sell than a $40 or $50 hardcover. GW can do it because of volume, a volume that no other company can really match (although perhaps Battlefront with Flames of War is getting there now). My miniatures show off the rules just fine and I'm far more likely to suck in new players with a demo game than with a fancy, expensive rulebook.

I'm not arguing, just giving a different perspective. As I am new to Warlord myself, and A) Don't have a couple uber painted armies and B) Am not very familiar with the rules, it is a lot more easy for me to talk a few players into the game with a book.

If they see the book and say, that's awesome, aw that's cool looking, we should get some! That way I have another person or 2 interested, they will make the investment in the book, buy some minis, then we would work on playing the game together and working through the rules together. THEN grab more people into the game.

As I am the only one LOCALLY that is even attempting to get into this game, this is where I have to start. It's kinda hard for me to run a demo table with only 1 army worth of figs, and never having actually played the game before.

I have read the new rules, most of it makes sense, but nothing beats hands on training.

Just my 2 copper.

Your enthusiasm is appreciated, and be assured, Bigs, that we are exploring all options. We would like to see the Hardcover Full Color also. It's nice and presents a good image - people tend to assume that a full color hardback book is a "better" game, too, although why that should be confuses me. (( When I got into WH40k before I came to work for Reaper, the rulebook was a softback, B&W, color cover, though, and GW certainly makes more money than Reaper. I have no idea if their latest book is a color H/C or not, though...))

We need to be sure such a thing fits into our business and sales models, so I do ask for your patience as we do our best to bring you the best that we are able!

Dude...I want a full cover hardback book, complete with those cool 3D pop up things, that also slide in and out (like in a little kid's book). So, you can like show a Dwarf stabbing an Orc as you move it back and forth, complete in full color 3D fabulousness!::P::lol:

You guys are just crazy... crazy I say

Well we have been waiting for a new book for so long that be it in color or black and white I'm just freakishly happy to get one! I still feel nostalgic when I look at my 1st edition AD&D books. It's not how nice a book looks, it's how nice a time you have with said book

Now if I can only find time to play...

Dude, that's an awesome idea! I might be able to leverage it to clear up some of the LOS/Cover confusion with CAV.

How about making a downloadable version? After all, we do live in The Age of The Internet.

Living in Denmark it always takes forever for new stuff to finally arrive here. And then it takes another infinity to recieve it from your online store (who always only orders a few copies), and the street retailers haven't got the message yet.

I'd gladly pay 15$ for a downloadable pdf (which I can cut up, clip together or insert into plastic pockets as I see fit), or even 20$ if it meant that I could get it sooner. Easy way to distribute the game and gather new players too, like: "yea it looks cool, but my game pusher doesn't carry this product, so I guess I'll just keep to playing the mindless ripoff games you can get anywhere (g.w.)" - "You don't have to, Reaper is on the tech beat and you can find all the rules and templates you need online, man, and it's practically free!".

I know, I know, somebody could take advantage and copy the rules. But in my experience, if people like a game, they also want to support it and own the rules themselves. And a hardcopy can be copied as well.

How about it, HUH?!
