Moderator TaleSpinner Posted July 12, 2009 Moderator Share Posted July 12, 2009 Here's my latest. I probably could have fuddled with her some more, but I really got tired of painting her and got to the abandonment point. I do see one spot that needs a touch more darklining, but I can hit that before she goes into the display case. Let me know what you think. John Lee
She looks very nice, I really like the way the jewel turned out on the quiver. The shading on the green is also nicely done. What did you use for the vegitation? John
bikerdrew
Very nice paint work on this sculpt. The gem on the quiver is very well done.
Versutus Vulpes
Very well done. I like the realism of the dirt at the bottom of the cloak. Ditto on the gem.
Jabberwocky
Another very good piece! The basing is fantastic and I'd echo the accolades on the gemwork.
SIGIL
Looks good man! Nice colour choices, solid technical aspects, everything " pops " well.
Whizard Hlavaz
Very nice work, Andy. She's a difficult miniature --- loads of surfaces. I was just looking at her as a possibility for one of my 'return to painting' pieces, and she spooked me. You did a *very* nice job. I appreciate the textures you've rendered -- on the quiver, for instance. Nice work.
gowestover
Yes, she looks great! I love this mini, and you've done a very nice job on her. Just on a small note, it was sharp the way you painted the bark of the stump grey, but the interior of the wood brownish. I think it's a common mistake (and one I've made in the past) to paint stuff like fences "brown"... When you think about it, an old fence-post is usually a middle-to-dark grey tone. Good eye! I also like the base flocking.
Wilwarin
beautiful job on this figure :) I love the gems!!
l33t ninj4
Very nice work on her. Is she a reaper mini? She seems oldly familiar. Either way I may sneek her into a unit of High Elf shadow warriors.
Beowulfthehunter
Wow, this was some great work, I enjoyed the WIP and I am glad to see the final product.
Moderator TaleSpinner Posted July 14, 2009 Author Moderator Share Posted July 14, 2009 What did you use for the vegitation? It is Fine Leaf Foliage from Woodland Scenics. I was just looking at her as a possibility for one of my 'return to painting' pieces, and she spooked me. I pretty much spent the last two months being "spooked" by her. I'm glad this one is done. She does look nice next to Cinder (I keep imagining the dragon having a little elf snack; yes, I am a DM at heart). Good eye! Thanks. I grew up in the middle of a forest in WI. I spent my childhood in the shade, so I know trees. Very nice work on her. Is she a reaper mini? She seems oldly familiar. Either way I may sneek her into a unit of High Elf shadow warriors. Yep, she's a Reaper. The number listed in the title is her Reaper part number. Thanks for all the compliments. Sorry for the rather pathetic WIP on this one. I just wasn't as inspired as I had been on others. I've started my next project and will be posting that WIP tonight. Have a great day. Dalth
I must say I love the colors you picked for this mini. Some of the highlights like the gem on the quiver is also very, very nice looking. :)
