Scipio
If you are considering using quick shade I can recommend it. I did an entire vampire counts army very quickly last year with it. Check out my old gallery thread "Dipping Project: Army of the Dead" here to see the result: http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?/topic/36010-dipping-project-army-of-the-dead-pic-heavy/ It's very easy to use and quite fun actually. :)
Nydhog
AAAAAAAAAAAND it's official: I need this. I'm sick of handshading my stupid warhammer 40k 5k point army minis....
Sharpe
I don't understand what's going on in this thread, but I love the paintjobs and the HeroQuest skeleton and Fimir!
Ravenwood
It's an example of how figures look after they have been dipped in the Army painter quickshade & let dry. The skeleton was not painted, just dipped. After it dried, I painted the Scythe & flocked the base. The other minis were just "block painted" (single color coats, no shading) then dipped. It's a fast way to paint lots of figures AND protect the paint job...
Angorak
Keep in mind also that the "dip" can also be brushed on. That gives you a bit more control on the amount applied and really cuts down on the waste.
Kengar
It looks cool, but I'd be scared of flinging the mini across the yard as I shook it off.
GreyHorde
It looks cool, but I'd be scared of flinging the mini across the yard as I shook it off. Ditto. I also don't want the varnish killing grass in my yard (now, if it acted like weed & feed, then we'd really have something!), flying around my garage, etc., so I only use it as a fast, easy brush-on. flameberge
Historical gamers have been using Minwax forever. You get a whole heck of a lot more for a whole lot less money than the quickshade and I find no difference between the two products. Minwax will give you an EXTREMELY tough coating. As for what color to use English Tudor Stain is the Minwax shade you want but for some reason this particular shade can only be found at Ace hardware.
