KyleGibson
We the Poor Fellow Soldiers of the Grand Order of the Temple, subduers of barbarous nations, notify and make known to you, as best we can, that we shall powerfully enter into your country, and shall make war against you in all ways and manners that we can, and shall subject you to the yoke and obedience of the Temple; we shall take you, and your wives, and your children, and shall make slaves of them, and as such shall sell and dispose of them as our Temple may command; and we shall take away your goods, and shall do you all the mischief and damage that we can, as to vassals who do not obey, and refuse to receive their lord, and resist and contradict him: and we protest that the deaths and losses which shall accrue from this are your fault, and not that of our Temple, or ours, nor of these cavaliers who come with us . I painted my Crusader Army based on reports that the Knights Templar fought under a Piebald banner. I thought the Black helmets made them look a little more sinister. I enjoy reading history and the actual historical Crusaders were rather nasty customers. Herzogbrian has started demos to get us all back into Warlord now that the new edition is out. You may have seen some of these figures from pictures of battlefields at his house. As you can see I need to paint a few more troops to march forth under the Piebald Banner of the Temple and the Cross of Saint Andrew! Deus lo Volt! Sergeant_Crunch
Those are great, I'd just do some drybrushing to bring out the details. It doesn't take long, but adds a lot.
mercoutlaw
The freehand and tattoo work is excellent! You have me wanting to start playing Warlord even more now...and with a new edition this could be a real good time to start.
highpriestrsw2
Very nice! What color red is that on the helmets and everything else? It's very striking. The tattoo freehand work is great!
dewen
Interesting and vivid color selection. The tattoo is really nice.

The red and most of the paints are GW because it’s the easiest to come by in Raleigh and there is nothing worse than trying to finish a figure and then realizing that you are all out of black or that the red has gone skunky. I am in love with GW’s Dark Flesh, Reaper’s Shield Brown, and one of the Reaper Greys, as well as old Ral Partha human flesh (I don’t know what I will do when I ran out but I picked up about six pots at Dragon Con a few year’s back) Those colors and a few more specifics that I will order online if need be. For the basic palette, I try and go with the easiest to keep in stock. Sadly there is a level of painted on highlight on the reds and blacks but with the high contrast of the black and white it did not show up in the photos. I generally paint on highlights and only dry brush bases, fur, chainmail, and hair.
