haldir
So since it August & I can smell football in the air.........ok maybe not that last part. Anyways figured when the group was going to do the draft this year?? (gotta love it I think since I've been involved I pick near the end but in the middle of the group ha ha) Ehh oh well I guess that means my team actually does pretty good, yah know not Lion or Raider-like seasons
Stubbdog
I vote for the last Sunday in August (Aug 30th), starting around 2 pm CST.
haldir
I might not be home around that time. I get off from work around 11 to 1230(mtn time) on Sundays. While it leaves me a half hour gap. I'd like to cool off from work before digging into the draft. How's 3pm sound? (4 for you) Also not sure if we did a time limit but if not then how about we have a 3 min time to pick. Epically since we have a bigger draft this year, or we need to draft more players. Right now I only have 3 or 4 (I think). Also I know Stubbdog get my 3rd round pick this year due to our trade from last year. RM
SOldcorn
Just remember when coming up with times that us on the other side of the pond are 5 hours ahead of you (6 for Central time) so don't make it too late for us please. Also I made a post on the ESPN site but I will repeat it here, should we announce our keepers in some form of order, my gut feeling is I should announce mine before anyone else as I have the first round draft pick. As such knowing what other people have dropped gives me an edge and might affect who I keep, but if we announce them in draft order then I don't get this benefit. Finally can someone tell me who were my keepers from last year.
haldir
yup I agree Stuart the time is a bit of hassle for you right side of the big pond people . More then likely I'll be out of there at between 11 & 12 (that is close to 8 hours & they never give me a 8 hour shift, just 8 hours of work, ha ha) Keepers--I just checked & I had more then I thought ha ha in front is the pt value according to our point chart (carry-overs from previous years 2 pt, "rookies" 1 pt) 2 pt QB Philip Rivers, SD QB 1 pt RB Steve Slaton, Hou RB 1 pt RB/WR DeSean Jackson, Phi WR 2 pt WR Dwayne Bowe, KC WR 2 pt WR Marques Colston, NO WR
Irish Stallion
Hey Reaper Fans, My vote would be to have the draft on a friday or saturday. I missed last year's draft due to work on sunday. My keepers are Maurice Jones Drew and Larry Fitzgerald. Later, Mike Arizona Cardinals
Heisler
I'll dig up the spreadsheet that I'm tracking things on in case any one has questions about how much a player is going to cost to keep. For this season the maximum is going to be 2 points. All keepers have to be announced before the draft anyway so they don't have to be dropped in any particular team order. Qwyksilver
Sunday the 23rd works best for me. Saturdays are typically good days, but I am not available on the 29th. 22nd works well too!
haldir
22nd would work for me (last day of my vacation I'm taking that week)
Irish Stallion
Hey Reaper Fans, I noticed 12 teams are confirmed for this season. Are we going to a 12 team format this year? I think 12 teams is the perfect # for a competitive league. Later, Mike Arizona Cardinals
haldir
I agree 16 was ok last year but the talent pools were just so diminished that searching for a replacement on a off-week pretty much meant you might as well just leave the spot open. styates
Sorry to have not jumped on before, I just saw this thread. Thanks for starting one for this season Haldir! Any Saturday evening or Sunday anytime should work out ok for me. As for the 4 missing teams, I'm willing to do whatever. I do agree that 16 teams did feel like a bit much. haldir
I'll post here in a vote for to drop the 4 teams. Like I said the pool was so depleted last year, you pretty much just had to take Joe "no one knows who you are, so don't get comfy on my team" Average when you had to replace a player. Sometimes of course you got lucky but more or less it was pick, play, dump after.
Stubbdog
If any of them speak up by the draft then those coaches can come back, but if they dont then I would vote not to replace them.
Irish Stallion
I agree with jason. When will the draft take place? Later, Mike
