Majuba
I was absolutely ecstatic to hear that Reaper will be making minis for Pathfinder! I've been hoping for this for a long time - Pathfinder has such imaginative monsters and characters, it seemed the perfect fit. Edit: Missed the official post, sorry! - here's the link (News from Gencon! topic): http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37131 Here's the notice I got: --------------------------------------------- Paizo Partners with Reaper to Produce Pathfinder Miniatures Monthly metal miniatures releases to support Paizo's new Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Paizo Publishing and Reaper Miniatures today announced a new partnership that will see Reaper produce monthly metal miniature releases to support Paizo's blockbuster new Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. The line is set to debut in Fall 2009, with fantasy miniatures supporting the Pathfinder RPG, Pathfinder Adventure Paths, Pathfinder Modules, and the world of the Pathfinder Chronicles. All miniatures will be cast in the finest white-metal alloy and will be available through regular hobby distribution channels. "We're ecstatic to be working with the fine people at Paizo Publishing," said Ed Pugh, CEO of Reaper Miniatures. "The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game has set a new standard in roleplaying and gaming in our industry. We're proud to be a part of such a groundbreaking endeavor." With the formal release of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook scheduled for tomorrow, on the opening day of the Gen Con Game Fair, Paizo has already seen its initial print run of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook sell out completely to gamers and distributors, with the presses working overtime on a new second printing expected in early November. The massive Pathfinder Bestiary, featuring more than 350 fantastic foes for Pathfinder heroes, debuts in October. The Pathfinder RPG is an evolution of the 3.5 edition of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying game, and is released under the terms of the Open Game License. "All of us at Paizo use miniatures in our games, and when it comes to marrying high-impact sculpts with excellent production and distribution, Reaper Miniatures stands at the very pinnacle of the hobby games industry," said Erik Mona, Publisher of Paizo Publishing. "I simply cannot wait to discover the incredible sculpts and dynamic characters Reaper will produce for its Pathfinder line." The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook and Reaper's extensive, award-winning miniatures line can be found wherever gaming products are sold or can be purchased directly from Paizo Publishing via paizo.com. joshuaslater
Great news. I buy them and don't even play any version of D&D. I'm looking forward to the Monk as pictured in their players' handbook.

joshuaslater
Crocodile Games has some cool stuff and a devoted fanbase, as do Pathfinder and Reaper. Reaper is in a postion to put out more models than the smaller company, but I'm happy CG got things going.

Lars Porsenna
I am naturally very excited about this development, especially since the figures appear to be Slottas. Personally, I hope the line concentrates more on monsters, since there are already so many PC types out there. Damon.
Heisler
If the contract is similiar to the one that Crocodile Games had then there are going to be a lot of PCs to match Paizo's product lines. Maybe a 50/50 split.
Chairman Aeon
Will Reaper acquire the older CG figs or have to re-sculpt them? Iain.
Flit
So Reaper's doing Crocodile Games minis too? I missed that announcement, I guess that's what happens when you go to work all day! I like the Pathfinder green! Who sculpted him? When can I buy it? When will we see more greens?
Heisler
No, Reaper is not doing the miniatures for Crocodile Games. Typically when a company loses the license they can no longer sell what remains of their stock so we will have to see what kind of deal Paizo and the Croc struck with each other, or if the license simply expired. It may be the Reaper will get or acquire the existing pathfinder molds from Croc and in that sense may end up producing some Croc minis. Just have to wait and see. MikeD
Cool news. Some creative synergy is almost always a good thing. So, are these going to limited to PC/NPC miniatures or are perhaps some monsters a possibility?
