Warwick
Does a new zombie get to activate that turn? Or does it get to stand there and wait for next turn? If the zombie becomes part of the troop that activated, does it still have two actions to use? That could be very interesting.
jdripley
My guess would be that it would act as a summon, and the same would be true for the Divine Spirit. Summons may take one action when they are brought forth. So if you kill the enemy with a melee attack, your zombie/spirit could not make any attacks (all fight actions have to occur at the same time) but if you felled an enemy with arrow or spell, it could. Obviously that's not an official answer, but it's my best guess and it's how I would rule on it if I were asked during an event.
Warwick
But it says whenever an enemy model is destroyed. I can destroy enemies in ranged and magic phases, so the zombie will still be able to attack in that turn. Assuming it gets one action. I think I need an official answer. I'm liking the possibility of making zombies on the run. And if I can kill a giant based monster I get a giant based zombie! I know it isn't any stronger than a smaller zombie, I just love the image. Warwick
Dang, I just noticed you did mention ranged and spells in your reply, JD. Sorry about that. Forgive me!
Gus Landt
An official clarification is forthcoming. Gonna wait until the craziness of GenCon dies down a bit first so I can really wrap my head around what the intent of this was... I do fully understand the problem. Just need more time to think it through.
Warwick
Any chance of getting an answer before tomorrow's game? I might bring out the dead for their first Warlord 2.0 victory.

Warwick
Do you see what I have to put with? You won't be laughing so hard when I kill a Dwarf and it pops right back up as a ZOMBIE DWARF! Oh, and that's after I feed off it and heal a point of damage. Zombie Dwarves don't laugh. They groan. Now I so badly need a bunch of Zombie Dwarves! Who makes Zombie Dwarves? Warwick
Hey, Gus, get over the GenCon parties yet? Ah, good times. If only I were young again. Anyway, how about a ruling on Dance of the Dead and Divine Spirit. We just got a new Crusader player into the group. When the zombie or spirit appear, do they get any actions for that turn? Gus Landt
After careful consideration, I can find no reason that the new models wouldn't get their actions. Obviously they couldn't use Fight Actions if that Troop already performed Fight Actions that Activation, but if you got em from spells or Shooting, then I can see no reason why they couldn't Fight. So that is the ruling - the new models do indeed get 2 actions that turn.
Warwick
Excellent! I didn't care how this worked just as long as something was official. Thanks, Gus. I can hear Wildbill's teeth grinding from the thought of Zombie Dwarves.
