action order/combat question

Not sure how to describe this.

We do actions for each unit 1 at a time. But all combat actions of the same type have to happen at the same time.

So my question involves some free attacks, that happen due to SAs.

Example: Crusaders: I have in 1 group, 2 light lancers with the swift attack. 2 Lion lancers, with their shock attack.

Pre-battle: I use my ranger skill on the light lancers and move them up 6".

First turn. The card is drawn and my opponent activates one of his groups and moves a unit up, so it is about 14" from the the light lancers, 20" from the lion lancers.

Another card is drawn and I activate my mixed cavalry unit.

1. I "charge" with the light lancers (1st action)

2. I "move" with the lion lancers (1st action)

3. I "charge" with the lion lancers (2nd action)

4. I "attack" with the light and lion lancers. Light lancers with their swift attack, and lion lancers with their rush attack.

5. If the enemy makes their "shaken" test due to shock, they get their defensive strikes.

6. I "move" the light lancers out of combat (making a shaken test if the enemy is size 2+).

Is this the correct way to handle this? Is this legal?

Or can I do special attacks on their own? (ie. do the light cave, swift attack, move away, then have the lion lancers move/charge rush attack on the already damaged unit? I assume that is why you have in the rule everyone attacks at the same time.)

2nd question: First strike. If a model with 1st strike has 3 attacks and is attacking a model that is at DT0. And hits with the 1st strike attack, then I know all the defensive strikes are done on the DT1 track. And if the model only had 1 damage track, he would not get a defensive strike. My question is my 2nd and 3rd strikes. Are they resolved using the DT0 or DT1 track?

3rd question: Shaken seems to be weakened a lot in this edition. The only time I even see you taking a shaken check is if you want to break from combat, a friendly shoots at someone your fighting, or some special abilities and spells. Is this correct? Did I miss anything?

And I didn't see anything about if you are shaken again? IIRC, in 1.0 if you failed a Dis check when you were shaken, you were removed, but I didn't see anything like that in 2.0.

Thanks

Item 1: Your 1-6 are spot on. And the defending model (if still alive after all of the first strikes and they pass BOTH shock checks) would only get to take a maximum of one of its defensive swings against each model since they each either swift attacked or rush attacked.

Item 2: Again spot on, your 2nd and third swings would be against the injured DT 1.

Item 3: You are correct in that there is no more retreating. But, in the original version there were only like 2-3 things that brought up shaken, now with the new version there a several more SAs, spellls, and other game mechanics that have that as a possible outcome. So, even though it might have an overall weaker result, there are lots more opportunity to pick it up. And if you are shaken it still makes you a ton more hittable.

The only thing I'd really add to this is the Declaration phase; starting in Step 4, you declare whom you are attacking, enemy makes their Dis checks for Shock, makes your attaks, defender declares Defensive Strikes (if any), then move on to Step 6.
