No, CAV, they're basically dune buggies with a smallish laser gun and a machinegun. I hates them, tricksy liitle Nomads.

Three more to go.

So the Torso bit of the Thug went into the simple green (fourth time for that part), and so did the Void models. I still don't have the hang of yellow.

But I finished:

a half-painted Blocko the Square Bot from Hydra Miniatures

a GW Tomb Spider that I'm really happy with!

Now I need to take pictures.

But I also remembered that I own a copy of Team Fortress 2

Mega Mini chickens (and I need to find 4 that escaped onto my paint table) - painted and waiting on final basing. The rogue chickens were with 2 sheep, the ram and a scribe. I don't want to know.

2 reptus sergeants - Well, 1 sergeant and he's waiting on lining. The other one is primed but probably won't get painted this month.

Barmaid - 90% done. I need to detail a bit and then she's good.

Wow. Progress.

I also might get the Dragon Turtle done since he was primed and I had the colors out.

Well, my Lootas and Burnas are partially assembled, and ready for priming. Last night, I cleared off my gaming table and set out my Orks. Current count:

180 Boyz

20 Nobz

4 Warboss

1 Big mek

2 Mekboys

2 Trukks

12 Deffkoptas

3 bikes

1 old-style dread

2 old wartracks that need fixing

2 old warbuggies that need fixing

1 old shokk attack gun

20+ RT-era boyz (being used as 'ard boyz)

scratch-built Looted Wagon (need to finish building)

scratch-built Flakk gun (need to finish building)

My goal for the rest of the month (and for October) is to concentrate on getting as much of the Orks painted as possible - I won't be looking at finishing individual models so much as getting some paint on as many of those as possible. Then, in November, I'll put away the Orks for a bit, and pull out the Imperial Guard (and paint lots of tanks), December will be Space Marines, January can be FoW Soviets, February can be FoW Germans. . . .

8 6 Thugs (using 50016 and 50002, along with GW Catachen Jungle fighters painted in a rag-tag scheme).Assembled and primed

4 3 Arbites (Using GW Cadian IG) Assembled and primed

2 Priests (GW Mordenheim)

1 tribal holy woman (Privateer Press Iron Kingdoms model) - cleaned

Ork Trukk (painted as generic flatbed transport) - Assembled into sub-assemblies (for ease of painting) and primed

03425: Burning Sphere as a flame marker - I know it is somewhere in my house...

Need a corrupted-chaos-mutated human thing (still haven't found a good model) - Found one! 02804 - Cleaned, clipped the broccoli off and am making a custom base from Hirst Arts cathedral bits

Hexalid- just going to use a Confrontation Durz tiger - cleaned, but not assembled

Well, I missed my two-weeks deadline, but the game was a blast! I made an alleyway out of some WorldWorks paper models and we had a great little scuffle with my primed thugs ::):

Hopefully I can get the rest complete before the next game...

~wyrm~

Feel free to do what you want, but if I were you I would consider making the goal something like paint a 500 point list. That way you'll be able to get some gaming in as a reward.

I have no opponents within something like 70 miles. Seriously. I have been looking for a miniatures game, any miniatures game, for years. I can get to the "local" cons on a good year - the "close" one (25 miles of highway, another 3-4 through 'burbs, city and campustown) has more LAN games than miniatures, and the other one is a mere 80 miles away (highway, plus some city & campustown), but it doesn't have a whole lot either.

I have pretty much given up on miniature gaming outside of major cons. I might be able to get a CAV or Warlord group going (and demo to that end), but really, this section of Michigan just stinks, gaming-wise.

Where in Michigan are you? I know of a fairly decent sized group in Annarbor (sp?)

Battle Creek. Ann Arbor would be U-Con (the 80-mile away con). Kalamazoo (25 miles away) used to have a couple game stores that did 40k, Warmachine, FoW, etc. They closed, and all that remains (as far as I can tell) is clix (Axis & Allies, Star Wars, or actual clix). There are two game stores here in town - one does a great job of stocking Reaper (and I do my demos there), the other is . . . well, it fails a couple initials in FLGS.
