Hells_Clown
This is for anyone who's painted this guy. I am having the durndest time painting him! I have given him a simple green bath 3 times now. The other two lupines didn't give me this much trouble. For some reason I find him hard to paint. Then again I'm trying to find a unique color scheme as well. I've painted the Rager brown/black and the Leader gray/white. This is as much a rant to blow off steam as a cry for help, but if anyone's got any good advice, I wouldn't mind reading it!
Kheprera
How about pulling up some pictures of wolves or other such canines like Huskies for some inspiration?
Hells_Clown
Been doing that too. Got some good pics, but as I said this one doesn't seem to take the paint as easily as the others did. Might be I'm getting too worked up over it. Too bad, he's a neat one... Kheprera
Maybe set him aside and work on something else until inspiration hits you. Or go for off the wall colors, like purple and yellow. :p
Stern Kestrelmann
HC- Sometimes taking a break from the piece helps. I don't like to this myself, but I've had to on ocassion. It might help you relax a bit. Don't give up, just take a wee break... Just my thoughts- SK
Hells_Clown
Yeah that's what I'm gonna do. It's not like I don't have anything else to paint in the mean time.
Reaper User Vaitalla Posted September 29, 2003 Reaper User Share Posted September 29, 2003 Sorry to get to this thread so late, HC, but another common wolf color that you wouldn't have used would be a mix of Walnut and Ivory with Linen White highlights...Walnut mixed with Ivory is a greyish-brown that actually is an ideal wolf-color, and then you can go in with some warm brown, like Woodland, and put a wash in parts to simulate those little bits of brown that timber wolves tend to have, like near the face, legs, etc. --Anne
