Gus Landt
For chain lightning, does it go through targets 2-5 even if it misses the first one? Yes. It does not require hitting to continue, even after the first target. Like I said, the spell is poorly worded. And Gus, are you keeping track of the clarifications? It might be helpful to keep a locked sticky thread with official rulings/clarifications/errata. If for no other reason than it will be easier when you decide to officially release any errata, most of the work would be done for you. I keep meaning to. If anyone has the time to start, it would be awesome if they could. I would then continue to keep a thread up to date, and also create a Clarifications page on Reapergames. Qwyksilver
I'll see what the kids allow me to do over the weekend and see if I can get something started.
jdripley
The bread falls butter-side down because of the size of the piece of bread and the height of the counter. Assuming the bread is pushed off (and not sent into a tailspin with an abnormal shove), it will take seven (I think) feet to rotate completely past the butter side and land on the plain side. So you need very high counters to have your bread land on the plain side. Alternatively, you could use two-inch square pieces of bread which rotate fully from an average height counter. Unfortunately for me, that's pretty much the only thing I remember about Physics.
ViciousPanzer
How about you take a moment to enhance your spacial awareness and just don't drop the bread? Or!! Wait until you get the toast to the table and THEN butter it. Ever since I implemented these two strategies I have seen no less than a 300% decrease in dropped toast incidences and a 1000% decrease in toast landing butter side down. Ergo, it stands to reason that your toast lands butterside down because God hates you. That's the only REAL scientific conclusion. Maybe find a church sometime and ask God why you two have beef? Dilvish the Deliverer
If you put toast butter side up on the back of a cat and throw it off the roof, with it land, inches from the ground and proceed to spin infinitely? Many, many years ago I saw a precis for a thesis from an engineering student that used the cat land on its feet and bread falls butter side down to construct a high speed rail system. The train cars were attached to many cat/buttered bread pairs and used the resulting lift to reduce friction. IIRC his advisor gave him props for the idea and the math he did, but ultimately shut him down.
Qwyksilver
Let's put any further discussion of butter unless it is immediately relevant to the rules over in OTR. And anyone that poses the question as an Elven Hunting Cat with buttered toast on it's back giving Elves a +2 bonus to movement will be summarily beaten with my Mod stick.
