Lars Porsenna
Dune - The original with Sting and company, hated by many I enjoy the film. Still trying to get the end theme song on my IPod, done by Toto I think, man has that song been a pain to locate. I have the soundtrack on CD! IMHO I'm in the hater camp. Looked good, good music, etc. But really? The movie distilled a complex and deep novel into a sort of Herbert McDonalds. I think fans of the book (FIRST) are more likely to be haters, because as a book-to-movie adaption, it was horrendous... Dunno if this counts, but I never turn off Big Trouble in Little China. It is because of this movie that Max Liao (for Battletech fans) unconsciously gets the Lo Pan voice for me... Damon.

Super Administrators kit Posted September 12, 2009 Super Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2009 UHF. My kids love the Princess Bride. Might be because I stacked the deck in my favor, though -- read it to them in the womb. Captive audience. Any David Lynch film is on my list. But I realize these aren't really guilty pleasures. These are all solid sorts of movies in their own way. I feel guilty not working for a couple of hours to watch a favorite movie? Does that count? No? Ok then, you asked for it. In the spirit of Robot Jox, I nominate Freejack. Oh. Just watched Bride & Prejudice again last night. Does that count?
vejlin
I have one, but its title alone is so not PC it would get moderated immediately.
Kheprera
Howard the Duck Street Fighter (the one with Raul Julia and Jean-Claude Van Damme) The Big Easy Serpent and the Rainbow The Goonies In that order.
sethohman
Fandango (jeesh anther KCostner film on here???) I could easily add Waterworld and The Postman - but post-apocolypse is a great genre, no matter the movie.

I look for it online from time to time but havnt had much luck. Also a Big Trouble fan! Lightning is why my favorite Mortal Kombat character has always been Rayden! Dr.Bedlam
Huh? Everyone I know LOVES "The Princess Bride." "Ladyhawke," on the other hand, is one that apparently I alone "get." I love that movie. My family can't sit through it. It evokes the eighties to me, a time when Matthew Broderick and Rutger Hauer were taken seriously. I'm surprised no one has mentioned two of the best bad movies ever made -- "Robot Monster" and "Plan Nine From Outer Space." I'd heard about P9, but was utterly unprepared for it when I actually saw it for the first time, on a Saturday morning on local TV. It's a jaw dropper... it's really that bad, and it really takes itself that seriously. Wonderfully awful. A fine training film for the bizarre world we live in... Lars Porsenna
Did you buy it recently? (If so where?) I look for it online from time to time but havnt had much luck. About a year ago. anvil
If we're talking guilty pleasures, then I would have to go with "Bring it on" and "Josie and the Pussycats" Maybe a little "Not Another Teen Movie" as well. My wife and I were just talking about what movies to play for our New Years Eve Marathon, the theme this year is Cheese fest, so schlocky movies are in. We have been doing the marathon since we got married. Last year was post-apocalypse so Road Warrior, Mad Max, Wall-E, etc.
Kataclysm
Princess Bride will always be a classic IMO. Fifth Element. I really love that movie, but it never really caught on. All the eighties classics. Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles ect. Conan, the first one. Maybe its just where I live, but very few people around here like it at all. Seven Samurai, just a fantastic movie, must be watched in Japanese with subtitles. Metropolis. silent but great. As a side story.... Once I was watching Young Frankenstein at work, laughing so hard I was crying. My coworker just kinda stared at it and said something like "that's just stupid" I popped the tape out and realized how sad her world was.
Brushmaster
The only few I can vouch for are Ladyhawk , Earthsea and Starship Troopers .
Beowulfthehunter
I was a big fan of Andrew Dice Clay, so I have to toss my vote in for the Adventures of Ford Fairlane. Also Barry Gordy's The Last Dragon, come on it had Sho-nuff in it!
smokingwreckage
All the Riddick movies: Pitch Black (all time top 10 movie) and the two sequels. Blind Fury Split Second Hard Target Hudson Hawk (it took me 3 goes through to twig to the humour, and now I find it utterly hilarious)
vejlin
Hard Target? I understand you feel guilty. I have to say it is probably worst movie I've ever seen in a movie theatre.
