Wilwarin
I'm making a diorama for a contest I'm currently in and I need to sculpt some house hold items. What would be the best for this? I know that greenstuff is really good, but I'm not the best at working with it; I mean I've never actually sculpted things with it. Is there anything else I can use? I'm contemplating using my son's old playdoh and just painting over it... but I want it to be a rather smooth sculpt instead of lumpy, which old/dry playdoh tends to get. Any advice would be appreciated!!
Whizard Hlavaz
Fimo (available at Michael's and other craft stores) works like Playdoh but can be hardened by baking. There's Milliput, too. It's a two-part self-hardening product that works closer to Playdoh than Green Stuff and doesn't require baking.
Wilwarin
Where can one get milliput??
Doug Sundseth
I picked up some Milliput at Hobby Lobby on Thursday, though I understand its availability depends on which store you go into. Another possibility would be Sculpey or Super Sculpey, which has the advantage of unlimited working time, though you have to bake it to harden it. It's not as durable as an epoxy putty, but it's pretty easy to work with, and it should be durable enough for most base work on a display piece. Inarah
If you have play doh, I believe you can use vaseline to smooth it, just a dab with your burnishing tool. You can also add water to it a little at a time to revive it if it is drying out.
