every one that you mentioned, I have seen used very affectively. Again, its all style of play and teamwork between your models.

 

Centaurs tend to need less teamwork from other model types, they tend to fit together with other centaurs best (taking advantage of group first strikes). Their speed and SAs dictate this a bit more.

 

Deathseekers and royals on the other hand do much more when they are mixed together with other models, for example with the disabling aspect of the hunting cats.

 

Faeries value is all in their cost to speed and hover. They can zoom around all over the place providing support bonuses for very little cost. And once they do get support bonuses, they are not bad in melee themselves for such a low cost.

 

Neither Faeries nor deathseekers provide any sort of cover for archers tho, royals do a better job of that.

 

Hunting cats dont block LOS to or from archers since they have short, but at the same time they make great road blocks with their cavalry bases to slow down the enemy rom getting to your casters and archers.

 

so yes yes yes and yes...

Sweet, Sweet, Sweet, and Sweet! Great Info. Unfortunately I have 15 Vale Warriors - and very few other soldier models. I think I'm going to pick up a couple more hunting cats, 5 Royal Guards, 5 Deathseekers and 2 more Centaur Warriors......and then re-configure and see where I'm at. I really like the Argyrian strategy that Gus pointed me towards (with the familiar regaining SP's etc..) and I'm hoping to keep Selwyn, Niriodel and Caerwynn involved. Someone else mentioned the Larnach and Lysette strategy of casting mirror twice on Caerwynn which I'm curious about and do have Larnach, but I'm really partial to my dragon :)

Ok, you want to use lots of warriors affectively? Here ya go one idea... I have not used it, but dont see why it couldnt work under the right circumstances

 

Elves - 998 points

Now, all of those warriors start out at MAV 4 and then with support can go to mav 5. You can use Larnach and Lysette to do the double mirror. But, you can also use Larnach's familiar to run out into the crowd with the warriors and cast the Elf only spell of Shocking Burst (dont forget that if Larnach is able to see the familiar while standing still he can focus when he casts this). For attacking models that the burst did not get, Hunting cats mingle with the warriors to get best mix of support, disable, and savage going.

 

Troop 2 is the same as other bilds, bless em. So,now they went from MAV 4 to MAV 5 and support can get them to MAV 6. Again assuming the elven monk does his job, Archers are also now blessed and focus for high end pincushioning of the enemy.

Innate spells are not Unique.

 

Trying to find this one in the book. It isn't listed under the spell tomes or under the SA for innate spells. Can you point me in the right direction Qwyk?

Innate Spell says the model "may cast it as many times as they have Spell Points to do so".

 

Also, page 37 on Special Abilities:

"Occasionally an SA conflicts with a rule in this rulebook. In those cases, the rules for the SA override the rules found elsewhere in the rulebook."

 

Therefore, innate Unique spells may be cast more than once. ::):

 

Cool. It hadn't mentioned anything about Unique one way or he other so I went with the safe side.

Other than the fact that you have very little teamwork or synergy going on here, they are all good models individually and you can still do well with it.

 

Ok, now I will try to infuse/modify this build with some teamwork and overall synergy - I'm getting closer :)
