Moderator Froggy the Great Posted September 22, 2009 Moderator Share Posted September 22, 2009 Sorted roughly by order of quality. Some of these are really good, most of them are ok, and a few of them I'm not sure why I didn't strip or melt.

Wilwarin
I think they look great! My favorite is the girl with the white cloak :)
Whizard Hlavaz
A number of pieces I like in there, but how did you do the star/galaxy effect on the bases of the starships? Very nice!
joshuaslater
"Fire all of your guns at once, and, EXPLODE INTO SPACE!" My fave is the conversion and paintjob making the arena/gladiator/pitfighter into a Martian.
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted September 22, 2009 Author Moderator Share Posted September 22, 2009 A number of pieces I like in there, but how did you do the star/galaxy effect on the bases of the starships? Very nice!I have a large very stiff brush, and I used that to spatter white paint onto the black base. The nebulae were made by then jabbing the base with the brush after it'd spattered all it could usefully spatter.
Kataclysm
yup, the white caped girl is my fav also. Very dynamic, and gorgeous blending/shading.
Doug Sundseth
While I can't speak to what Froggy used, classically, that star spatter effect is done with a toothbrush. It can work really well for starscape "ground" cloths.
Kormydigar
Cool stuff. Where is that first mini with the candle from?

Serenity
Cool stuff. Where is that first mini with the candle from? That's part of the 2007 Christmas Sophie pack. Vaitalla did a long WIP on that one. Christmas Sophie WIP
Vil-hatarn
Are those unmodified Dragonflies I see? Great work as always, Froggy!
Moderator Froggy the Great Posted September 22, 2009 Author Moderator Share Posted September 22, 2009 Are those unmodified Dragonflies I see? Great work as always, Froggy! Not quite - I forgot to pick up their guns from the Boneyard last Reapercon. I'm looking for other similarly-scaled single-seater CAV planes to face them as proxies in Wings of War. Any suggestions? I gather the Dragonflies are actually truescale and just tiny.
Vil-hatarn
Ah, I see that now. As far as I know, the Dragonfly is the only truescale and tiny one. Not sure how big the cockpit on the Longbows looks--might be able to pull that one off. All the others would probably be difficult...
