jah-joshua
hey reaper people... this is my second mini painted specifically for gamers/ebayers... i'm finding that a mini the customer would only need one of sells better than a random rank-and-file mini (no matter how well painted)... http://www.coolminiornot.com/232143 this is a straight copy of the GW scheme... it was fun to recreate a scheme using a totally different line of paints, P3 from Privateer Press... i had quite a bit of trouble gettin' good pics, that do this guy justice... i still haven't hit upon the magic set-up with my camera yet:(... the sheer amount of detail on this mini was a joy, and a curse at the same time... i enjoyed painting him, but i hope i never have to paint him again... thanks for lookin'... cheers jah
Jabberwocky
Great job with the freehand! Welcome to the forums, by the way!
Lars Porsenna
Nicely done! Did you have to mail order from GW for this, or did you get it in-store? Damon.
jah-joshua
thanks guys... @lars: i got this guy online, because i had won a $50 voucher in a painting contest... he's not mail-order-only, but i haven't got a GW nearby, and i had to use my e-voucher anyway... cheers jah
Nanite
Nice job! It honestly looks like a tough model to paint.
demonelf3
Lots of little details there, good job on that. The green is good, but the mini is just a little too mulitcolored for my tastes. Good blending overall, maybe a bit more on the flames though. But seriously, nice.
Karabean
Wow that cape is incredible! The color combo overall is striking. And welcome! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Kataclysm
Holy cow, that is gorgeous. Very dynamic and wonderful color choices.
Whizard Hlavaz
Exceptional model. Very well done. The patterned green armor is super. Those Warhammer models are so complex and have so much detail, and yet you pushed beyond just painting it to add your own detail. Great work. Bravo! jah-joshua
thanks again for all the kind words... this guy was way too much work;)... all credit for the paint scheme goes to Joe from the 'Eavy Metal team (i'm not even gonna try spellin' his last name)... i just copied his studio version, since i'm testin' the market for studio recreations in my spare time... this guy did alright on ebay last week, so there will be more to come in my Gamer's Series (maybe even a reaper mini or two)... @nanite: it was a tough job, but fun... i hope i never see him again!!! ;) @demonelf3: GW chose the color combo, blame them;) this guy is painted in my normal style, which is purely layering, no blending... i strive for a very "graphic novel" comicbook style with my minis... @wizard hlavas: thanks, but the 'Eavy Metal team deserves all the credit for the scheme... thanks again... cheers jah
Stern Kestrelmann
Very cool. Clean, crisp, and solid color choices. SK
