dargrin
So I am using the Olive skin tone. What colors should I use for the nips? Please note this is a serious question. I am using the MSP. Thanks in advance guys.
Rastl
What are you using for lips? I generally use the same color and highlight both with a touch of the skin shadow color.
dargrin
HA! That what I normally do. Since I don't have either I am at an impasse.
Lastman
Try adding a little bit of maroon to the olive skin paint. I wonder how blue would look. I can't test right now, gotta sand drywall mud. :(
Reaper User Vaitalla Posted September 29, 2009 Reaper User Share Posted September 29, 2009 Given the point behind Olive Skin is that there is little or no ruddy coloration to it, I would probably not add any reddish color to the base unless you're going with a purplish or brownish red; experiment and see what looks right and what looks "fake". Olive skin is tricky! You could probably go with a slightly darker bronze color with a hint of purple and be fine. --Anne

Mr.Wizard
I guess glowing LED pasties are right out?
Anne
Hoohoo! You could always research for some photo reference I'd probably paint them a dark brownish variant off the skin, keeping the tone warm. Or if there are piercings, maybe something to compliment whatever shade the piercing is, but keeping it subtle.
dargrin
Hoohoo! You could always research for some photo reference HA! I could but I would end up loosing interest in painting then. I need to do some color test on paper first. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will hopefully have something to post tonight.

dargrin
And I wanted this to be a serious thread too.
Rastl
I've done the 'how to paint nipples' thread and gotten a pretty good response. Without having lips as a reference and using that skin tone you don't have an easy answer. I'm looking forward to seeing what you used since that should help with lips, etc. when I use the olive skin tones. (If you think this was bad you should have been there for the "how to paint testicles" discussion at RCon one year.)

Wow I'm glad that I was not part of that one. I would be all kinds of red.
psyberwolfe1
(If you think this was bad you should have been there for the "how to paint testicles" discussion at RCon one year.) Wow I'm glad that I was not part of that one. I would be all kinds of red. Well I am going to stop right there. So much could be said but shouldn't. Actually my wife has a pregnancy book that shows the colors that nipples turn during pregnancy. Very informative. I would say with Olive you'll be looking at purply browns. Also once the nipples turn color they never fully return to their pre-pregnancy color.
