Karabean
Hi Guys: So I ran into this weird situation with one of my mini's. I noticed it took place about a week after I'd sealed it, and the mini had been sitting about a week before I sealed it. It was happening with the sword and arm, I redid the sword, then thought to capture pics of the arm before I redid that too. Although, part of me is looking at it and saying, hmmm, maybe I could play that up as scarring, although I've no idea how, or if it would be stable if I left it in place. Anyway, anyone ever run into this before? Ideas what caused it? Thanks for your advice!
All-Terrain Monkey
What primer, paints/additives, and sealer did you use?
John Lee
Looks like the solvent in the sealer caused the paint underneath to loosen, kind of "stripping" effect, the sealer just held it in place. John
Karabean
reaper primer, proabably some golden flow releaser with the paints, and testor's dullcote for a sealer. I had no idea sealant could act as a stripping agent.
Lawgiver
Was the sealer put on during high humidity? Was the paint fully dry?
All-Terrain Monkey
I think Lawgiver's called it, it looks kinda like frosted sealer from being sprayed in too much humidity.
Karabean
The mini had sat for a week, so I'm sure it was dry before sealing. I didn't think it was high humidity, I didn't notice it and it wasn't raining, but it could very well be, I can be oblivious to these things some times.
