King Tiger
Snowing heavily here in western PA as I type this. Break out the ski's, snowmobiles, shovels, plows, toboggans and Burl Ives music! Well maybe not the music, cause winter is almost here!
Heisler
We have already had our first snowfall down here on the plains. If you want to push it the high country got their first snowfall back in September. You easterners really need to catch up with the seasons sometimes. joshuaslater
Waterproof boots are on now. Philly will get hit sooner than later. The word on the street is that this winter will resemble the one in '77. Deep snow, super cold, long lasting. Anyone have an almanac handy?? haldir
It's been raining here. Nice as it warmed the air here. It was in the 30s & 40s earlier this week & it felt colder. RM
Chrome
Last Friday night we got between 4 and 8 inches depending on which part of town you live in. We got around 5" in my yard, but it was still warm enough that by mid-afternoon any snow in direct sunlight had melted. My backyard had a line down the middle of it and was half snow, half grass. By Monday it was all gone and the city never had to break out the plows. I think this winter is going to be bad too. I'll try and check my almanac tonight and see what it says, but based on how cool this summer was, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is one long, cold season. No fair Heisler, we only have 2,000-3,000 feet of altitude to work with here, you folks are mostly 5,000+, Mile high indeed!

Star Drifter
It got up to 90 today in Austin. I wore shorts to work and was still warm.

Sergeant_Crunch
My condolences to those who have gotten snow already. Wish I were back in TX.
Mad Jack
We just got our first the other day, but it was mainly frozen rain that melted when it hit the ground. Really just the first feeble attempt at snowing. Although it was definitely cold enough for snow, here by the coast we usually get hit with a bunch of wet slush before we get real snow. Helltown
As Maine decided to skip summer this year with an extended spring rainy season, I'm betting we'll be skipping the snowfall and heading straight for freezing temps where it's actually too cold to snow. My space heater and I are already good friends, it was such fun the night I turned it on and it read 54 degrees.
haldir
after a cold spell came through a week or so ago, we are back up in the 60s-early 70s now. Did a bit of airbrushing outside today. Will try & get some more in tomorrow sometime, as Monday is suppose to rain here again. RM
