Hardware store spray paint?

I'm just curious if there are any spray paint cans at either a hardware store or Michaels that is acrylic and will work with miniatures? I'd love to get some base colors in a can to use for my miniatures, but GW has ridiculous prices on their cans of paint, and I don't believe Reaper has cans of paint, and my local store doesn't carry Reaper paints these days(or else they relocated them in the shop).

Army Painter makes good base color primers, and they cost a bit less than plain old GW primer. They come in a whide range of colors like red, blue, metal (steel?) and 'necrotic flesh'. You're saving a ton of time by spraying a basecoat and primer in one shot. Try the War Store or Miniature Market.

A lot of people swear by Krylon. I had a bad experience with it though. Real bad.

I'm supprised to hear that, but I suppose every manufacture has a bad batch slip though once in a while? I had repeated problems with GW, Armoury, Flouqil and other hobby primers that required stripping and re-priming dozens of miniatures. However, about 5-6 years ago I switched to Krylon primers, and have never had a problem with primer since. The fact that Krylon costs less than 1/2 what GW spray does is just icing in the cake! ::D:

Not acryllic, but the Testors has a few flat coats that I use and work well. I think I have used the flat red, flat olive green, black, and grey, and all work esentially as a primer and you can paint right over it no issues. But, like I said, it is neither a primer nor is it acryllic. It is available at Michael's and Hobby Lobby.
