ogre
Hey, guys. I'm a new player, but have beeng painting - and that's my real interest, to be honest - for a long, long time. I go by the name Ogre on Camospecs.com, and have been painting Mecha minis for several years. Anyway, I'm afraid I don't know as much about CAV minis and factions as I would like. It's my understanding that there really aren't any specific schemes for lots of the units in question, but that Ace pilots can sort of go their own way. So, I took a stab at a Warlord mini I picked up, painting him as a Ritterlich Confederation ace with his own custom star-field camo scheme. Doubtless it's not 100% canon, but it was still fun to do. Thought I'd post it and see what the public thinks!
Jabberwocky
Welcome to the forums! Always glad to have another CAV painter among the ranks. Great looking mini. Cool star field camo and the cockpit looks excellent.
Amalor Myrnnyx
Hey, Ogre. Welcome to this side of the park Star Guard is always a fun scheme to do, and, at the risk of a bad pun, I think that CAV looks stellar
Lyn
Welcome to the family! You did a great job on your first CAV mini! Hope to see you paint and post more of them!

Always a fan of your work, so I'm looking forward to seeing a CAV from you. Given that CAV's don't seem to have any fast and hard schemes to go by, I'm looking forward to having some room for creativity. I still love my CBT, but I'm ready for something new. wyrmgear
Very nice! Love that color for the cockpit- Did you freehand the numbers and labels/signs? <edit to add:> Forgot to mention I like what looks to be lenses on the ends of the weapons. I've not seen that before and think it looks pretty dang cool.
ogre
Thanks! The "lenses" are done with a process called jeweling; basically building up from dark to light, and adding that little white dot at the top. I use it for most cockpits (flat ones, anyway; this curved kind of canopy doesn't look right) and energy weapons.
