Worst model you never leave home without?

Recommended Posts

My choice is Lord Vandrian, Vampire cav. On paper, he's a beast! On the table, I have to babysit him, support him on all sides, and he still folds under the slightest pressure. Is it the dice? Is it the scenario? Is it me putting him in all the wrong places? Yes, it's all three. He's included in almost every Vampire army list I make, but he's proven so wimpy in the past that no one is scared of him around these parts. And who can blame them? Just recently he has been killing a few enemy models, so I might have a light at the end of the tunnel.

So what is your worst model you try never to leave home without?

If this question were related to the 1st edition warlord, I would have a handfull of answers here. But, I have to admit withthe second version, I really dont. Partly cause I have been play testing a bunch of different factions and builds so it limits my ability to bring models over and over. But, even then, I cant say that I have had any model consistently let me down. Sure every model has a bad night now and then, but I havent had one yet that lets me down all the time...

Mine would have to be Guros, Darkspawn demon captain. Maybe I'm not playing him right but so far he either gets shot to heck or is completely ineffective as a spellcaster. Its like he tries to do too many things and none of them well.

But if he absorbs the attacks of a troop or two or draws all the ranged attack fire away from a softer target, that too is doing a job.

I continue to tote along Ssudai for my games. He never seems to get any spells off, and he's so dang squishy I have to dedicate valuable troopers to protect him.

He has gotten a few very clutch spells off before though, keeping him firmly implanted in my builds.

I have the same issue with Lesette of the Elves. I have to use models to make a wall to shield her or I may only get one spell off. That may work for you but then again Elves play more defensivly then Reptus.

well you can't afford NOT to throw everything you've got at the Hill Giant. That is one seriously scary model. If he's at full health on turn 3 it's curtains, because by then your strength is too depleted to pull off the kind of concerted attack that you need to take something like that down. The Hill Giant scares me almost as much as Judas Bloodspire does...
