Use to play when it first came out but I got tired of getting owned by everything in the game & this was even when my Tauren was half a level from 60. My gear was up to par, my skills were my level just got tired of losing to elite stuff 10 to 15 levels lower then me.

It also didn't help that I was on pvp server that Horde was outnumbered 5 to 1 (friends picked it), I'm not into pvping so that right there put me behind the eight ball so to speak about the game. I do love Blizzard & their style.

Haldir, if you were fighting actual "ELITE" monsters, then there is no wonder you were losing. Elites are the ones with the little dragon picture surrounding the portrait. They typically have more than twice (perhaps 3 times) the hit points of a regular monster of that level, and are designed to be a challenge to a group of players, not an individual. Since a group can seriously pump out firepower, the only ways to challenge them is with a large number of monsters (difficult), or a few elite monsters. Going solo against elites is definitely not reccommended...

Really, $15 a month (or a bit less) is pretty minimal for the amount of play time that I've gotten out of WoW so far. I resisted for quite a few years, but then gave in one dark night about a year and a half ago. Been having fun ever since. ::):

I landed on the Eitrigg server (non PvP, non RP) because that's where I heard that the Reaper peeps were hanging out. I never could catch one of the officers, so I never did join the Reaper associated guild. But, I do wave at them when I get a chance. ::):

As far as going up against elites, it all depends on the character's class, character level vs. monster level, character gear, and situation. My paladin has gotten to the point that going solo against the elite undead dragon and 3 henchmen for a daily quest isn't a big deal. On the other hand, the same feat attempted by a poorly geared paladin of the same level or my priest (aka "The Scooby Snack of Healing") would be unwise.

My main is Drossblighte. Whisper me when you see me online and I'll hook you up with a guild invite.

Thanks, but I'm (usually) happy with the guild that most of my characters are in.

I'll still wave when I see you online, and I may whisper you from my character who isn't in a guild. ::):

Oh I know, but a 45 elite vs a almost 60 character shouldn't be a challenge to me. Heck I've taken on creatures in LOTRo with the same level difference & I easily destroy that creature. I know that elites are group based creatures, heck I had some the best times grouping in WoW. I just got tired of the game really, that & at the time the money I was spending on WoW, could have went to other things. Probably the real reason I decided to drop out. I may use a 10 day free pass & join a friend who has rejoined but he still on the same server we were on before, that & after awhile my Tauren warrior started to get boring. So who knows.
